Dr. Lopez is amazing! He was very patient and careful to explain an entire procedure to my daughter. He completely put her (and me!) at ease. Everyone is so wonderful and I’m so happy my daughter is a patient.

We had a few great experiences with the dentist and the practice overall. Then suddenly, I started getting text spam about insurance they sell in case we didnt already have any. Fair enough.Then some months into the pandemic i tried to schedule an appointment by calling and I got their voicemail. I didnt get a call back. So I sent an email through their site portal. I didnt get a call or an email back. Then I called again (maybe they missed the first message?) and left another message, a more detailed message. No call back. None. I tried texting back at the number where I was getting the spam. Nothing.So I passed by to to see if they were open (maybe they closed due to the pandemic?). Doors were locked, sign on the door said to call if you had an appointment so they could let you in. Lights were on, I could see a monitor was on and could see the windows wallpaper on it. So I knocked, no response. I called the number on the sign on the door, no one picked up. This was on a weekday around 11am.I found another dentist for my son. They picked up the phone! I cant even get this place to send the records to the new place.What a waste of my time. If you can get in to see the dentist, good for you! But lower your expectations for a call back as they either cant work their voicemail, cant work their email, but they certainly can spam you to sell their insurance!!

I’m going to say this to begin. The dentist is NOT the reason for the review. Mr. Lopez is frankly one of the best in the area, hands down very thorough, patient, and explains in detail expectations along with great advice. With that being said, your team is a reflection of your leadership. Your front office employees who handle customer concerns, conflicts, questions are the WORST. I wasn’t aware that only one parent could stay during the visit so I walk in and immediately had the office manager stare me up and down and give me a look like I don’t belong. They asked who was staying and I left, and didn’t make much at the time about the uncomfortable feeling of being judged either due to what I was wearing or my ethnicity or whatever was bothering the office manager about me when I walked in. When my family came back, I was advised that while trying to make a follow up appointment, there was options provided that did not work for us due to our work schedules. The receptionist after being explained this replied “Well I don’t know what to tell you.” This is just a small sample of the rude and unprofessional manner that clients are attended to in this office and for whatever reason, it remains unaddressed. I went back in and out of character for myself, I went off on the staff. I asked to speak to the dentist over and over and was denied by the office manager, who says she’s been there for 9 years. Please Mr. Lopez, if you’re reading this, it seems unfortunate to have this problem in your office when you are such a great dentist for almost a whole decade. I see others have been having the same issue and have felt compelled to post and the underlying issue seems to be exactly the same.

We have been seeing Dr. Lopez for almost five years now and he has been a great dentist. Unfortunately, his office manager was very rude. When I inquired about my young daughters having to go to the back office without any parent present, she rudely stared down at me and but simply stated this is the case and the info was sent to us already - so deal with it. I understand the need for COVID protocols. However, my children are most at risk since they can not be vaccinated yet. Not only did she rudely speak down to me when I respectfully inquired, she chose to talk bad about parents who are concerned for the kids with her co-worker while I was still sitting in the waiting room. When I approached her and Dr. Lopez in person about her lack of professionalism, she started yelling at me with her mask off. It’s ironic I had to ask her to please put her mask back on. This clearly demonstrates my hesitation to allow my pre-K age kid to go to the back office without me or parental supervision. She would not know to ask their staff to keep their masks on or know whether they are following protocol.Dr. Lopez, we hope you find a respectful and professional staff who cares for your patients and families as much as you do.

I usually do not take the time to write reviews, but I think Dr. Lopez deserves an excellent review.Today my daughter had her last filling done, and I want to take this time and say thank you to an amazing dentist and his professional staff.My daughter became a new patient for Dr. Lopez after visiting 2 other dentists. She did not have a good experience with neither of them. She was crying and asking to leave the dentist office. We were told she would need sedation or general anesthesia.A friend recommended Dr. Lopez and going with him was the best decision we could have ever made even if he is not in our insurance network and we had to pay out of our pocket. My daughter not only had the crown and fillings done without sedation or general anesthesia but without a tear being shed. She went from being afraid of the dentist and not willing to go to being confident and looking forward to see Dr. Lopez.I feel that Dr. Lopez has done more than just taken care of the problems in my daughters mouth, he has made her feel at ease about visiting the dentist and I am very happy and thankful for that.I also would like to mention that Dr. Lopez texted us asking about how my daughter was feeling after the treatment, I think it is rare to find someone who cares about his patients as much as he does.I hope this review will help if you are looking for a good dentist.Even my daughter recommends Dr. Lopez to her Dinosaurs toys. She says Dr. Lopez is the best and I agree :)

This was my sons first experience at this dentist and he actually loved it. This was his first being alone with denist because there are no parents aloud BUT it was great for my son because it aloud him communicat his own. Dr Lopez was amazing and very informative. My son is looking for to his next six month appointment.

Dr. Lopez is a godsend for the children.After 2 consultations with different Doctors my 6 year old girl was supposedly candidate for sedation and General Anesthesia to get a crown and filling done according to them.Luckily a friend told me about Dr. Lopez we had a consultation and he said that my girl doesnt need anything other than tender love care , next day after the consultation he treat her with just laughing gas and the job was done, no tear was shed . And that was the most amazing experience for my girl on her first encounter with the dentist.Highly recommended Dr. Lopez & team are exceptional, front desk very professionals.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU VISIT THIS OFFICE!!!This front desk staff is extremely rude and incompetent. Mary the office manager has a belligerent attitude towards customers. They surprise you with new fees and procedure costs on the same day of your appointment. It makes you feel like you have no choice but to accept the new costs or you will have to reschedule for another visit. My toddler son has a small cavity and had a visit to get it done. On the prior visit , we were informed by that this will be a non-anesthesia procedure for the cavity. Ten minutes our appointment, we were told they will bill our insurance for gas nitrite anesthesia. This was a BAIT & SWITCH ambush. As parents, were not comfortable going forward with the change in procedure and the deceptive practice.This is not he first time they did this to us. On the first visit for routine dental cleaning, they tried to bill me the $30 MEDICAL co-pay for a DENTAL visit. I told them we have never pay a co-pay for a dental cleaning since its covered on our plan which we have for the last 5 years. When I mentioned this to the office manager, she became irate. I called my insurance company and handed the phone over to her to have them tell her she was wrong to charge me. She hung up the phoneDR Lopez, you need to change your admin staff if you want to keep your patients. WE ARE NOT GOING BACK TO YOUR PRACTICE and many others have also made this same decision!!!

Dr. Lopez and staff have treated my son with such love and care. I was completely traumatized by the dentist at an early age...my son of the ripe age of almost 4 has just had his teeth pulled. He is a stubborn little boy, and the care that they offered him was just above and beyond. I wouldn’t recommend any other dentist in the Alexandria area over him, and mind you I have shopped around. Straight up left dentist offices because of the lack of feeling safe and secure. They squeezed him in on short notice after a pretzel claimed half of my sons tooth, he was in such pain and discomfort. Thanks team! Let me know when you treat adults, I would love one of those prizes at the end!

My son is 7 and this is the only dentist he has had since he was 3. I appreciate the effort to make the experience better including the sun glasses, movies on the ceiling, gift bags, and prize at the end. I’ve been looking for a practice for my children that my whole family could feel good about and I believe this one is it. The staff at the front desk was super helpful and the nurse Maria and Dr. Lopez really did a great job of explaining everything to me and my son about what we needed to do for his dental care. He’s been smiling ever since and looking for to feeling better after a troublesome tooth and feel of the drill and needles. I’m going to switch both kids over.

From the time I signed into the time I left was excellent customer service and you can tell the staff wanted to be there and loved what they do. I was in and out in 35 minutes. The technician who cleaned my daughters teeth made my daughter feel comfortable and so did Dr. Lopez. I would highly recommend Dr Lopez to others.

I live 45mts away and have to take 495 to get there but I dont mind the drive. My son has had a bad dental experience at another office but since he has been coming to see Dr Lopez he is no longer afraid and is happy to have his teeth cleaned at Alexandria Pediatric Dentistry. My kids (12 and almost 7) and I LOVE this practice! Dr. Lopez is great with both my kids and does a wonderful job at making them feel comfortable. My youngest had a cavity that had to be filled, and she and I were both super nervous, but Dr. Lopez did such a great job. He kept her calm the entire time and made the procedure painless -- she didnt even cry when she got the shots! I just called to get an appointment first time visit. 🙁🙁🙁 the person I spoke to didn’t even bother to talk to me in good manners at all. First she put me on hold and came back and started asking lots of questions in a very rude tone and I asked why she is talking to me in not nice way and she said oh it’s even my lunch time and I am talking your call😲 I read the reviews and was looking forward to take my kids there but I guess Dr. Lopez needs to have an employee who is actually interested and knows appropriate phone etiquette.

Always a great place to visit. The front desk staff are efficient, friendly, and always a pleasure to work with. Dr. Lopez is also very friendly and efficient. I always feel like he is really listening to each patient, you never feel rushed. If my kid doesnt have anxiety here, no kid will!

I watched Dr. Lopez deal with a childs first visit and the child was 1-2 years old. The child was crying and scared but Dr. Lopez was able to calm the child and complete his assessment. I absolutely love this practice! My 3 year old had her first cleaning with them and stayed calm the entire time. We were so worried about how she would handle it but she LOVED it. When she faceplanted the floor and damaged her two front teeth, they got us in on short notice and took great care of us. Dr. Lopez explains everything as he does the visit and is great with kids. Mary always give a super warm welcome and is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. We definitely will be continuing care here and recommending it to all of our friends!

My childrens experience with Dr Lopez was very good. Unfortunately, we had a change in our insurance. My kids used to be covered under our old medical plan, but with the new insurance they were switched to our dental and I didnt know. So there was difficulty figuring out who to bill and the whole time the front office staff was treating me like a criminal who was going to skip out on the bill. I paid the bill out of pocket and dealt with insurance myself, and then I cancelled all future appointments and will not go back. Still, our experience at this office prior to the billing issue was good enough that Im rating four stars. Just make sure you have your insurance in order and beware the front staff.

I am so thrilled to have found Dr. Lopez and Alexandria Pediatric Dentistry. My son has a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist and does not like needles; when he needed a cavity filled I panicked. After doing some research, I found that Dr. Lopez uses the Solea laser as an alternative method for treatment of cavities. What a concept! Using the laser makes the treatment be finished in a shorter amount of time and it’s virtually pain free so....no needles!! I was thrilled that there was no anesthesia and in turn, his mouth wasn’t numb afterwards. It was such a great experience and we will definitely have Dr. Lopez use the Solea laser if he gets another cavity in the future. The dental office was also very clean and modern, they had a TV on the ceiling above the chair to help ease the patients. The staff was so friendly and nice. I can’t speak highly enough about our experience. I will definitely recommend this dental office to everyone I know with children!

This was our very first visit to the office and wow what an amazing experience!!!!! Alexandria pediatric dentistry is the Ritz Carlton of pediatric dentistry! I went with both of my boys ages 3 and 8 and she was able to make sure that my 3 yr old was ok while I made sure the 8 yr old was comfortable. My 3yr old usually despises the dentist, but this visit he asked to come back to this placeThe entire staff within this office is Stellar ! While my children had their teeth cleaned they were able to watch their favorite movies ! In addition to it all Dr. Lopez is a Godsend! He took time with both of my kids to ensure they had a healthy smile and healthy attitude. For that I am greatful and will remain a customer . Forgot to mention my appointment was for 2:30pm my first son was in the chair at 2:38 !!! Amazing service !

Dr.Lopez and the staff are wonderful.

They will rip you top to bottom, in my child case she had a cap to one of her upper tooth and they already charged me with $1100/- excluding insurance and even after that they sent extra $400/- bill.
