Dr Lauren was so wonderful with my 7 year old. He was relaxed and calm and able to breathe better after receiving Cranio Sacral Therapy and a chiropractic adjustment. We are now signed up for a six week treatment, and I’m hopeful this will really help with sinus and gut issues.

I was on travel for work and in need of an upper cervical adjustment. Found this practice on the NUCCA website. I called my Dr back home for a recommendation and he confirmed I should visit them. Sent over my existing records, filled out some simple online forms and they got me in right away. Dr Jake was great, has a great approach and very current with the practice and equipment used. Was in and out pretty quickly and started feeling better. I am comfortable and particular to my practice back home, but they did a great job making me feel welcome and at home, and the transition to get treated here was fast and seamless. They even offered to get me back in eight if I had any issues. Saving grace on this extended work trip.

I was already a fan of Upper Cervical Chiropractic technique when I lived in another state, and I was thrilled to find this practice when I moved. This place is like magic. I had a horrible herniated disc and was losing strength and feeling in my right arm. Doctors were telling me it was looking more and more likely I would need spinal fusion surgery. The pain went on for months. Despite being skeptical of chiropractors, I figured I would try anything since the pain was so bad.Dr. Jake took X-Rays and saw that my shoulders and hips were tilted, causing my vertebrae to continuously bend.At each visit, Dr. Jake would apply slight pressure to my jaw for about 15 seconds and that was it! After about 3 weeks of visits, my pain declined unitl was totally gone and I had regained full feeling in my left arm. It was a full recovery. I am so thankful for Dr. Jake preventing me from having to get surgery, which would have altered my life permanently.

Dr Jake is awesome! After my first adjustment I felt a world of difference. The most noticeable change has been in my sleep patterns. I was referred to UCCG by a friend seeing Dr. Jake. I had been experiencing chronic thoracic back pain for a couple of years. I saw physical therapists, pain management specialists, Eastern medicine practitioners and nothing helped me. Dr Jakes scans showed me the imbalances in my spine and body. With his adjustments and recommended stretches, my pain began to lessen within a couple months. Now, after almost year of treatment, I only have occasional pain. Ive been seeing Dr. Jake for a little over a month through UCCG. I had never been to a chiropractor of any kind before. However, I was looking for somewhere to relive some minor back pain I was having and preventative care. After being misdiagnosed by many different chiropractors, Dr. Jake was able to help me stand straight. I was told by many different chiropractors that I had one leg shorter than another so I had to wear a lift or that I had scoliosis. I have been going to chiropractors all my life. Once Dr. Jake straightened me out, I have been able to take a lift out of my shoe and I havent had any issues or pain. I now rarely ever get a headache or migraine, unless I sleep incorrectly. Jake & Lauren. We stopped going after my oldest daughters POTS & MACD issues resolved. Then years later, I had a running accident and broke my right hand and separated my left shoulder. I have had increasing neck, low back and knee pain for the past 13 years. In that time I have had acupuncture, chiropractic (from 4 different chiropractors), spoken with physicians and received massage from nearly a dozen different practitioners. At best, i was able to get some temporary relief from my symptoms, but I have never even come close to full recovery. My pain had gotten so bad that I was unable to walk more than a few blocks without pain and had even collapsed on several occasions because of weakness in my right knee.My father recommended NUCCA to me because he had had success with it after suffering from sciatica for nearly 30 years. Even with his recommendation, I was skeptical after the first visit when the adjustment was so gentle. I really was expecting something more dramatic. I had been struggling with strange neurological issues for about 6 months. My main issue was dizziness, but also blurry vision, tingly/numbness in my hands and feet, and brain fog. No real pain, but with the dizziness and fogginess I was really struggling to function. I had been to a zillion doctors, run through a bunch of tests, MRI, blood tests, etc. I passed everything with flying colors and was told these various symptoms were migraines. Migraines may be the issue, but I wanted to get to the root cause and fix it. The fact that they also consult with other NUCCA specialists shows me that they will do what ever it takes to insure my alignment and improved health. Even their equipment and new state-of-the-art digital X-ray equipment (low dose x-rays) shows that they are focused on being the best.I wish I knew someone as good up in Philadelphia region but there simply is not. It is easy for me to justify the 2.5 hour drive to Alexandria to be adjusted by the best. I now have relief of lower back aches and numbness in my hands.

Drs. Jake and Lauren are great. The treatment they provide is gentle, painless, and effective. My whole family goes there to get relief from aches and pains - my wife goes when she feels pain in her knee, I go when I have discomfort in my chest, and my two brothers go when they have neck pain and severe headaches. Apparently being out of alignment affects us differently : )The thing that most impressed me is that Drs. Jake and Lauren made it easier for us to bring our two children to our appointments by placing a toy box in the exam room. Im not even sure we are supposed to bring children, but they accommodate us every time we go so we dont have to make separate trips without kids.Their facility is clean and the environment is relaxing - its a great overall experience, especially when you can walk out the doors free from shoulder, neck, back, chest, or knee pain.

Going to UCCG over the past year and a half has limited my migraines and neck pain more than any other treatment I’ve tried. Having a traditional chiropractor as a parent, I grew up receiving regular chiropractic treatment for my chronic neckaches that started when I was a young child and only worsened as I got older. Ive had headaches for years (many years), in spite of ongoing chiropractic care. My chiropractic care helped my back, but somehow couldnt touch the headaches for any length of time.When I started coming to Drs. Lauren and Jake, I had headaches up to several days a week. Advil barely touched them, and neither did anything else.I used to hold my head at an odd angle, and after my first visit to UCC, that tilt was gone; it has never come back. Ive had lower back pain for a number of years and had figured out how to manage it through yoga and stretching - but could not get rid of it. The Drs. Dodds evaluated me. We also noticed that one leg was functionally shorter than the other - not physically shorter though. We have almost completed treatment. My legs are now functionally the same length, the back pain is gone and the muscles in my neck and upper back are less tense. And they are great people to work with, too!

When I first came to this office 8 weeks ago, I was in extreme pain and couldnt stand up straight. I suffered from a herniated disk, complicated by an excessive posterior and rotated pelvic tilt. I was on pain killers, muscle relaxers and NSAIDs every 4 hours. Dr. Jake Dodds educated me thoroughly on why this was happening and how this procedure would heal me. It is such a gentle, non-invasive procedure. If I hadnt seen the before and after x-rays (and stood up straighter), I wouldnt have known he did anything! These two have been so incredibly nice and professional. The night of the first adjustment, Dr. Jake gave me a call to check on me! That has NEVER happened to me before! To top it all off, they didnt turn me away because I didnt have insurance, just as so many other doctors had. Now Im back to work and feeling better and better every day. FINALLY AN ANSWER! In 2004 I was rear ended in a relatively minor fender bender. Luckily I walked away with only whiplash. Unfortunately once it healed I slowly developed sharp, stabbing and numbing pain near C6 and C7. For 12 yrs I have been to every practitioner imaginable, including traditional chiropractors. Ive had X-rays, MRIs, CT scans and bone scans. Although no practitioner has been able to find a cause to my pain, Ive been prescribed pain meds, anti-inflammatories, topical pain creams and muscle relaxers. Ive had Rolfing, massages, physical therapy, Accupuncture, trigger point injections, facet injections and dry needling, all to no avail. Dr. Dodds is the first doctor to be able to show me where and why I was experiencing pain AND TO ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO HELP. My pain has diminished so much its hard to believe that the reason is Dr. Dodds gentle adjustments.If you are on the fence about whether this can help you, take a chance. I am so glad I did. Been coming here for about 9 months or so. I was a mess! Now I have minimal to no lower neck/upper back pain and my headaches have decreased. Best thing about this treatment is you dont feel anything during the adjustment or process (maybe mild soreness after an adjustment, but not like other chiro treatments Ive had in the past). I first went to a NUCCA chiropractor years ago in California in order to deal with some severe lower back pain I would get when exercising. I fell in love with the technique as it is gentle and provides excellent results.When I moved to Virginia I started having some back issues again and went to Charlottesville on occasion as that was the closest NUCCA chiropractor. Ive been going to see the Dodds at the Upper Cervical Chiropractic Group since they opened their office last year and have been very pleased. I take my young son there to help with his migraines. My wife goes as well as she had sciatica and shoulder pain. I highly recommend them.

As one of the 4 UCC practioners Ive visited, I really like the energy level, enthusiam and more importantly the observances Lauren has to discomforts during treatment . I dealt with extreme vertigo and neck pain but she handled it in the manner Id expect from a good Doctor. The adjustment is so light it feels like nothing has happened but this is deceptive. It does not hurt at all.... no bone cracking. While I may not agree with the total premise of the UCC school of thought , I do agree that this team currently have the best office for upper cervical adjustment. I enjoyed significant pain relief after the first visit. Everything about them promotes peace, wellness and a respect for the patient. I will visit them again when the need arises. Ffor me they are the go-to team.
