My skin condition was a tough fix, but Connie Hayes and her staff worked with me until we found a solution that worked. Although mine is not a condition that can be cured completely we did find a treatment that made it easy to control. I appreciate the fact that the staff shows a genuine concern for me.

My first visit experience was great! Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I just sat down and was already called in to see Constance Hayes. I was given the time to explain why I was there and the situation with my wound. The care I was given was exceptional to say the least. I highly recommend this dermatology group!

I went in because I had some spits on my head that I needed to have checked. The staff was very attentive to my needs, from the time I walked through the door to Dr Connie answering all my questions and taking time to explain what she was doing and why. She did a thorough exam, determining to spots on my head were what she classified as wisdom spots, nothing to be concerned about. One on my shoulder was rather suspicious so she is having that examined further. Appreciate the time she took with me. Would highly recommend them

My husband and I both went here to have some moles checked, and we are so happy we did. From identification of both cancerous and pre-cancerous spots to removal of both, every staff member we dealt with was wonderful and accommodating to our busy work schedules. I came in as a new patient to look at a potentially problematic mole. Another provider scheduled me erroneously for a same day but I was supposed to be scheduled next week. Not only did they work me in anyhow, but they were thorough, efficient and very professional. They were training a new employee, short staffed and still exceeded my expectations. Polite front office staff, a new check out staff member that was very kind and excellent medical assistant and physician. Excellent job!!

Dr. Salyard did an excellent job during the exam. She was quick yet thorough, and she addressed all of my concerns. I initially had an exam with another dermatology practice a few weeks back, and the PA I saw at that office claimed there was nothing wrong. I decided to get a second opinion, since he was trying to get me out of the office as fast as possible and didnt listen. I didnt even have to go into detail about my skin concerns for Dr. Salyard to notice it and suggest a biopsy. I told her after the fact about my previous experience, and she agreed this needed to be taken care of. Ive already recommended her and this group to a couple of people. I will be returning for any other skin concerns that might pop up in the future.

Dr. Connie Hayes is one of the most thorough doctors I have ever seen! She visually checked me from my hair on my head to my toes and in between the toes in the bottom of my feet looking for any signs of skin cancer or abnormalities, I was very very impressed! Connie Hayes is new to ETDG. She is fantastic. She took her time during my examination and gave me all the options for treatment. She didn’t decide for me. She is so personable and thorough. She educated me on many things in general related to dermatology as she went through the examination. She wasn’t in a hurry as she explained those things that could help protect and enhance my skin. I have seen five different dermatologists in this area over the years and have not really been impressed. Connie was definitely different. I highly recommend her and the super-friendly staff at East Tennessee Dermatology Group.

These people are great from the first time you walk into the door the receptionist is very friendly and the doctors are very thorough with each patient. I would highly recommend them for your dermatology needs.

Dr. Salyard is excellent. Quickly surveyed my upper body and efficiently determined what needed to be biopsied, what needed to be excised, and what needed to be frozen/burned off, all while carrying on a pleasant conversation with me and her resident! Impressive!

Well run practice that provides quality health care. My first experience here was positive. They kept close to my appointment time, did a full body scan and took care of a few minor issues. I was impressed with their Covid policies and felt comfortable in the office and exam area.

Very good exam. Answered all my questions and gave me recommendations to prevent additional problems and care for my current skin conditions. Very curtious and respectful. Timely visit.

What I like the most is the fact that I never have to wait very long. In and out and done. Staff is friendly and they do follow the Covid-19 protocols.

My exam was thorough as usual. However, my concern is that although everyone in the office and waiting area is required to wear a mask, the doctor conducted my exam without wearing one! And, of course, I was asked to remove mine so that my face could be examined. I hope the doctor is tested often. And, since the doctor sees many other patients, I suppose I should be tested, too!

Probably a good doctor, but he advertises treating all kinds of dermatological needs; however, the lady who makes appointments told me hes only seeing skin cancer patients. So, I will be looking elsewhere, unfortunately.

I’ve been going to Dr.Unkefer since I moved here. He has great patient rapport and is very aggressive in treating ANYTHING that is or could be cancerous. He is also very talented sewing up a spot and that spot being almost invisible. His staff is like family! They are very friendly and very good at their jobs!

I like going to see Dr Unkerfer. The wait times are usually short. And when he enters for the exam, you need to be ready with questions or concerns, because he is not there very long for a routine check. My visits are mostly follow ups from the cryogenic treatments for potential skin pre-cancerous spots which the Doc shoots with the liquid nitrogen. The worst part is the yearly paperwork update. Overall a good experience !

Dr Unkafer; is a very gifted professional, supported by a friendly professional staff. He performed Mohs on top and back of my left ear. The cancer was deep into the outer roll of cartilage . He used a technique to graft skin from fatty part of ear, then cut into a shape that he stitched and folded to recreate the contour. Amazing artistry. I was happy to not have cancer and wasn’t concerned about how my ear would look afterward, but he and his staff were. In addition to the medical related professionals that work with him in clinic he has three other ladies that are always working, rarely absent and I can depend upon them to make sure I have text reminders and actual phone call. They are also there, in sunshine or thunder storms to greet patients with a smile and encouraging word as they enforce the State of TN guidelines regarding the COVID19 Protocol. Melissa- greeting receptionist, is a relentless form distributing, information gathering, Co-Pay Receiving, ink pen and furniture sanitizing machine 😁 She has excellent back up support by Exiting Receptionist the young lady that makes return appointments and schedules procedures. The tranquil atmosphere and clean smell of the of the entire office from front door to restroom, procedure rooms, patient rooms and exiting reception area has a calming effect that stays with you when you leave. The aura is very much like that of my favorite spa. Not sure if that was the intent but I like it.My husband and I have referred several people to Dr Unkafer and his amazing staff. Now they are referring patients. So, don’t think about retiring anytime soon Dr Unkafer. 😄

Dr Unkefer was on time and explained fully how to apply a skin care product to achieve optimum results. Additionally he counseled the potential future use of another product that would reduce application time and much less facial discoloration over the course of the treatment. Furthermore this option is one day in office event versus the traditional three weeks/2 Xs day. Professional and Informative. Thank You!
