Dr Chen had me on both Lisinopril and Losartan. Other doctors and Nephrologists later confirmed this could cause further kidney damage.

I have been seeing these doctors for several years now. Both doctors have been great. I never wait more than 10 minutes. The receptionist and medical assistants have always been very pleasant and helpful. The office itself is very nice with plenty of parking space. I feel I have gotten very good care here and I would recommend this practice to anyone needing this kind of care.

We take my grandma to this office to help care for her and our time here has been good. The doctor is very helpful and caring and really helped my grandma. The office is open, nice, and courteous. I have no qualms about taking my grandma back again for more visits .

I would not visit this office again, and I wish I had read the reviews before going there.Dr. Alas was a wonderful, professional specialist. He was caring and had great manners. But his only error in that he has not fired his office manager yet, who appears to be building quite the reputation based on the reviews this office is getting for their front staff.I have not met anyone who is worse at their job. I cannot imagine someone who is worse at their job. This woman is rude, inconsiderate, and adamant that she generate additional work for billing, tracking, scheduling, etc. I believe she purposefully generates more work for herself and those around her. Thats my only explanation for why she makes the decisions she does, and then she berates you for suggesting theres a better/easier way to do things.She demanded cash up front, and then misread my insurance deductible. When I explained that she could wait for the insurance payment, she insinuated that my insurance may dodge the bill, hence why she wanted me to pay up front. After I paid over $200 for a procedure (which I knew was way too much), my insurance confirmed to me that she overbilled me by $200 and I would be due a refund.I tried to call several times to speak with her and track my refund, and never got a response. She was always busy, or out of the office. I left three messages and got no response. On the third message, I mentioned that I wanted to share with Dr. Alas that his office manager was being unprofessional, rude, and driving away customers. I was told by the woman at the front that Dr. Alas is out of the office and unavailable. However, the very next day my wife gets a call from the office manager and the first thing this woman says to my wife is that Dr. Alas has asked the office manager to relay to my wife that her husband (me) is no longer allowed in the office due to the way I treat women. I havent heard this directly from Dr. Alas, so I cannot confirm that it was indeed his wording or order, but his office manager assures my wife that no one from that office will ever take my calls again because she believes Im mad at her due to her gender. I can assure this office manager I am upset because of her lack of professional decorum and her incompetency. I do not care at all about her gender.I am still owed over $200 by Kidney Specialists of NM.

Doctor listened intently and answered all concerns we had. Was very insightful and suggestive of treatment proceedings albeit this was our initial visit and have yet to follow-up post lab work. Front office staff fairly new and learning in progress.

I just want to take a moment to say Thank You very much to both Drs and the staffs at this office, they have treated our mother with respect, care, and go above and beyond to making sure our Mother doing great in or out of the office, follows up appts & reminding call which really helpful as well. I would no hesitation to take our Mother back or highly recommend it to everyone, if you need the Dr’s office who willing to treat you like your love ones, please come, or call to set up the appts to with office to take care of your family.Once again I appreciated for all your helped and kindness!

It’s sad to say but this was the worst expirence ive had with a doctor. They did nothing to help my condition ,not even recommendations of what I could do. I thought at the time they were doing what they should . Now that I have a good doctor who is helping me (years later) I can see the difference in care. It seems as if doctor Chen could care less . They are working with people’s livelihood and it’s sad to see that they don’t really care .this has greatly affected my life. I wanted to write this review so people won’t make the same mistake i did by seeing a doctor who is not trying to help.

I was supposed to have an appointment today. When I showed up they said I had to pay $138 up front or not be seen. I have no copays due to an Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) my carry provides as part of my policy. Its only after that is exhausted that I pay out of pocket.So I called my insurance customer service.The office staff absolutely refused to listen and said they would only talk to provider services. When customer service offered the phone number to provider services that said they didnt have to call because I wanted them too. One office staff said she didnt know what HRA meant so I told her. She snapped at me saying, I wasnt talking to you.I have never been treated so badly or rudely in any medical office. I also wasnt financially prepared to pay anything either so I had to walk away. I was asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said, no, I dont think so. So now Im out a doctor and cant get the doctors interpretation on the results for the labs they made me get.I have seen this doctor before and as others have mentioned he is pleasant and caring. But most of his office staff and manager need to be replaced.

Dont waste your time here. I waited MONTHS while pregnant and in severe pain for my apt to be turned away the DAY OF because THEY screwed up and had the wrong insurance listed in the computer. Had NOTHING to do with anything I could fix and now I will get to Continue to wait in pain for Months because they cant do their jobs correctly. I will be reporting them to the BBB as well .

Excellent care for 5 yrs! Couldnt ask for better!

I was a patient of this facility for years. When I retired and started traveling I have had no trouble from my other health care specialists doing video visits and/or sending my medical records. to other providers. This facility however refuses and will not cooperate in my continuing care as I travel.
