I had to go to the ER which of course is always a hard and long thing to do. I waited for 4 hours, but I can see its because the staff actually really care to check whats wrong with the people who come into the ER and deal with extremely limited beds. At one point, I got too cold in the waiting room and requested if they could call me instead while I wait in my car which the nurses approved. If you go here remember that there is not water or snacks in the waiting area that isnt in a vending machine, bring your own. When finally admitted, I was asked quite a few times if I needed anything and was even offered a pillow by the CAT scan technician as well as an extra blanket when I went to get an ultrasound. As someone who has had so many bad medical experiences, Im so glad that the staff treated me like a family member who was sick and not just a patient. The doctor on staff last night also really treated me with empathy which is so needed in the medical field today. I dont know if I was treated this way just because I was also kind to the staff, but I certainly hope they treat everyone like they did me. Overall, Kasemen is in need of funding, remodel and recognition for the great staff who are there. Only negatives is that there is definitely more urgent and fast ERs in ABQ.

I hope the inpatient behavioral department has improved. I admitted myself into psychiatric care because of my MDD ( diagnosed there). I’m happy that I was put on meds which stabilized my symptoms but the several of the caretakers were disgustingly horrible. On top of dealing with stigma around mental health in general, I expect patients to be met with care and compassion. While there, I argued with a woman about how aggressively she was talking to me. She walked around with a pretentious attitude and like she just wanted her bi-weekly check to come. On one of my bad nights, I had to be out back on suicide watch and she was horrible to me. It triggered me more. One man, didn’t look up at you at the desk when you needed something. I had to meet with one employee there who was kind and thoughtful who suggested I write about the incidents so that she could submit to a supervisor. I’m not sure if they ever talked to these employees about their lack of ethics while working and caring for vulnerable people with chronic mental disorders. I’m Thankful I made it through my hospitalization, I just hope they hold workers accountable in the future. Will not recommend to anyone who needs emergency psychiatric care.

The security guards stole my money and phone because I recorded them mistreating people. I came in by ambulance for an Asthma Attack and had to get help from the Albuquerque Police to be transfer to UNM to finally get treatment. Mind you my money was in my phone case when they took my phone and it was missing when they returned it. I have video of the incident. October 10, 2020. Stay away, I would not be surprised if they steal from peoples rooms. I did get a letter from that stated they were sorry, but thats about it.Update: I have reached out to them several times (9 to be exact) with no answer other than their appology letter. My number is on file and I would love to get a person to call me back. I still have the video you all never requested. Thank you for your response even though we both know its just formality or to make this hospital seem like it cares about improving when the dates of other reviews clearly show they do not.

Last year, I went in with a covid scare (ended up being flu) and was given excellent care. I was put in a room right away and the doctors were so attentive, comforting, and professional.Last night, I went in due to a medical issue that was less serious but still concerning to me. The triage nurse did not really triage me. I waited for 3 hours, no communication, and watched other people go in before me. A woman was moaning in pain in the waiting room and they took hours to bring her in, too. It wasnt the worst hospital in the world but I wont go there again. They really need to communicate and get a little more organized.

So I called the ambulance this morning , arrive at kaseman with a chronic life threatening condition.Get checked in, placed in a hallway about 6 feet from another gentleman seemed a little older and was wrapped in bandages. I was in extreme discomfort, told they would need blood and left unattended and waiting for the phlebotomist to come take my blood so they could treat me.While waiting I conversed with the elder gentleman and discussed with him how I had determined from the way they handled me to this point and in the past. That the greater majority of health care workers are there for the wrong reason $$$$$So to make a long story short the phlebotomist overheard my private conversation and called me ignorant and I had to leave with no way home still sick because I was scared to be treated there. The security guards had to roll me out to a bench because I couldnt walk. The security guards also expressed disbelief in the way I was treated. It took a worker from tri core across the way to call me a cab so I could get home. Not a fan. This is one of the grungier looking hospitals in town. Lots of problems with homeless / addicts and violence in the area. Lock your car. They do have security, who seem to like hanging out in one or two spots during the evening. The exit from the main parking lot can get clogged up due to poor placement near a stop light. Its often easier to park on a parallel road to avoid the traffic jam during congested times of the day.I also regularly end up getting balance billed here, whereas Ive never had that problem with UNMH. Can usually get it resolved, or at least figure out a payment plan, but there have been one or two shock bills over the years from these guys. I make sure to have my insurance call and get an estimate every time I go here now. I use UHC.Also, these guys use something called Medicredit as bill collectors. Their number(s) are always flagged as a potential scam by T-Mobile and I have yet to receive an itemized bill from them. When calling Kaseman, they tell me all accounts are paid in full...Apologies, but you guys have a lot of work to do.

This is what is quite ironic and contradicting if you Google s Presbyterian Kaseman you see the following information in update section dated wait for it July 2, 2020!UPDATED VISITOR POLICY DURING COVID-19To protect our patients and employees, Presbyterian is not allowing regular visitation at this time. Adult visitors may be approved in certain situations. These adult visitors must pass a health screening and are required to wear a face mask or other personal protective gear, as needed. However they only part of this thats true is when you arrive in ER here is visitors must pass a health screening and required to wear a face mask and not allowing regular visitation at this timeMy family member and I arrived in August due to a mental health emergency, upon entering we were screened at entry lady was very rude, she had gloves but did not clean thermometer after each use, we passed and allowed to Customer Service window barely greeted, did not take insurance information she advised Triage as to situation and called back family member I was very concerned and surprised at what I saw...... (you can see its clear glass window in lobby to ER area) half or more of nursing staff had no masks or any personal protective equipment on. I was told to leave with my family member belongings including a cell phone. Put her in a room among very ill patients. only gave her a mask not separated from ill we if you recall are admitted and held 24hrs for mental health emergency. My family member stated she used a phone to call me but it was not wiped down nothing in site to disinfect it and no Medical staff were wearing masks or protective gear. Mind you i work in a family medicine we are required to use a bleach solution to clean everything down as a patient leaves an area, patient rooms are sprayed with same and closed door 30 mins then wipe.. so I was very disappointed, but mainly disgusted at the level of protection a hospital takes precaution to protect spread in a PANDEMIC!!!! HEDE MY WARNING DONT TAKE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE!! we had to get COVID-19 tested because she ended up having symptoms after being stuck here 24hrs!! This is horrible place!!

First review: 1 star. Needless red tape. Was seeing a Presbyterian specialist in Santa Fe for a condition spanning a decade. That specialist left, and there is no replacement in Santa Fe currently. Called Presbyterian ABQ to see if I could get in for my annual follow up with a specialist there, and was told I would need a referral. They checked, and they can see my medical records. I confirmed my insurance doesnt require a referral. They said they needed a referral so the doctor would know what to treat. BUT they can see my medical records, so it should be obvious. (There would literally be notes in their system from a year ago saying to follow up in a year.). So why, in the middle of a pandemic, do I need to go to my primary care for a referral for an ongoing issue!? Makes no sense.***Follow up. Updated/added stars. I called the patient care team, as suggested, and they were able to resolve the issue. (No referral was needed in my case.) They were fantastic, and Im satisfied.

There is no ZERO star.On January 4th of 2020, about noon, my son dislocated his shoulder at his friend’s house due to epileptic seizure. They live close to Ana Kaseman so that is where they went. My son sat in the ER for nearly FOUR hours with his dislocated shoulder and arm turning blue. When they finally were ready to fix his shoulder, just before they were going to knock him out, he had a second seizure. He had NEVER had two in one day before. The second seizure put his shoulder back. I know this from his friends that were there. Now that he had a seizure in the hospital, they suddenly decided that he needed to be admitted to Pres. Neurology. What for? The seizure disorder is in his records. Why should he have to be admitted?I showed up after the second seizure. My son was still groggy and not all there as it takes him a while to become cognizant after a seizure which doctors should know. They told me he agreed to be admitted. He would agree to anything for an hour after his seizure episode. They thus began to pump the medications he was prescribed WITHOUT asking him or me about what he takes. Maybe they did, he doesn’t know. The KEPRA “drug” he was prescribed a few months earlier turned him into a zombie. He was NOT taking it but they pumped it into him intravenously. THEY should know epileptics do not always take EXACTLY the prescriptions they are given as they play hell just trying to stay cognizant without having a seizure.I arrived about 6PM and was told he was waiting to be transferred to Pres neurology. I asked WHY. Because they felt he needed to. WHY? They can’t give a reason. We sat there until 5PM THE NEXT DAY waiting. Finally, when my son was decently cognizant, after the Kepra had worn off, he asked me, “What are we still doing here?”That surely does NOT sound like a person who “agreed” to be admitted. At one point, shortly after I got there, a nurse was taking a urine sample. She made me get out of the room to get the sample. After she came out, she said, “He agreed to be admitted.” I went back in to find my son completely groggy. As I stayed next to my son, his legs began to twitch as any man’s does when he must urinate SOON. Turns out, that nurse who took a sample, did ONLY that. My son, laying in bed was FORCED to piss himself because they could not BOTHER to see that he could function!!!! This would happen AGAIN because of the Kepra drug. Later, I heard some nurse complaining about him being incontinent. This same nurse “verified” that my son “agreed” to be admitted when the moment I walk back in, he asks me, “When are we leaving, Daddy?”He was there for more than 29 hours!! I was there for 23 of them. This attitude that the parents don’t matter once their child turns 18 is amazing. You can simply do what you want with some naïve child who is OBVIOUSLY impaired. Sign him up. Let’s make sure he is bankrupt. My son told me the other day that he remembers the waiting room for a long time and them about to give him the sedative to do his shoulder and then we were walking out. That is ALL he can remember. Does NOT sound to me like someone who agreed to be admitted. My father would be so disgusted that ANYONE, let alone one of his own grandchildren, would have been treated this way. He used to RUN Pres day surgery. He taught me what the Hippocratic Oath is which most people in “healthcare” seem to have NEVER heard of.

I know those machines are loud so I would think they would give instructions prior to turning it on....... nope. I could hear them yelling the instructions in the waiting room and, apparently, my girlfriend couldnt hear over the machine so they yelled them two more times. The scanning begins and it sounds like Im in a war zone. I think, Thank goodness she has headphones with music so its not so bad for her..........wrong! The machine turns off an hour and a half later and one of the techs yells twice that shes done and can leave now. She comes into the waiting room with tears in her eyes. She gets dressed and almost runs out of there and tells me that she couldnt hear anything they were saying over the machine and the headphones made it sound like machine guns were going off in her ears. The tech at the end didnt even try to help my now deaf girlfriend off the table. She loves going to every other department at Kaseman, but never wants to return to the X-ray/Radiology dept. I took my son to the ER department at 9:30pm. A really nice receptionist did everything she could to help. He was triaged with a fever, tachycardia, difficulty breathing, pain, and weakness for 7 days. The triage nurse was told that he had been to urgent care and tested negative for the flu 4 days ago. She seemed irritated to have to listen to him or be there. I understand emergency care is busy and hectic. I understand triage basis care. I have no problem waiting if there is communication. 3 hours into our wait he began to vomit violently. I told the receptionist, who was very kind and asked if I could update the triage nurse. I respectfully waited to speak with her . She was rude and irritated again. She said she would have someone bring out something for nausea. An hour and a half later after everyone leaving the desk, no anti nausea medication, and my son exhausted and weak he asked to go home.We went to Sandoval Regional Medical this morning. He was in a room on sepsis protocol ASAP. Blood work, breathing treatment, xrays and a CT instantly. We are still here and they are great. If he was elderly or weaker the possibility of him being in a life or death situation at Kaseman and being ignored is very possible. Negligent, uncaring, compassion fatigued lack of care is what you will receive here.

Instead of stabilizing the problems, you calculated the risk and sent him home in a still very-iffy situation. In freeing up another bed for your department to use, you have put a very unstable situation back into my untrained lap. I am not trained to deal with the kinds of problems he has. The employees of Kaseman simply don’t care.I went here for a severe allergic reaction on my birthday in May. I 100% understand that people with non life-threatening issues should go to urgent care or wait to see their doctors. I get it. But when an ER is dead quiet, and urgent care instructs you to go there, what else are you supposed to do??The ER was extremely quiet on the day in question, and I was immediately taken to a room. We thought that was a good sign, but over two hours later the nurse hadn’t even stuck her head in once to see if I was still alive (and with a history of anaphylaxia, this was a concern!). My husband finally went out in the hall, and he found the nurse standing in the hall flirting with another employee. From talking to people in the EMS field, I’ve since learned that Kaseman ER has an atrocious reputation. You couldn’t pay any of them to take family members there.

This was an absolute worst experiences in all of my time dealing with Presbyterian Hospital. Never in my life have I been treated so disrespectfully by a doctor. First of all it took them 6 hours to do absolutely nothing. The wait time was not horrible, it only took them an hour and a half to put me in a room. However the other four and a half hours not one thing was done until the last hour. Two separate doctors came in to check up on me after a vehicle accident. Not one x-ray was taken, not one CAT scan was taken. I am still in pain they wrote me a doctors note 3 times incorrectly. I dont know how a doctor that spent eight years in school could have such incorrect grammar. What kind of doctor writes with a pen over her mistakes in a types document instead of just retyping the doctors note. Thanks to these doctors my boss now thinks that I have plagiarized doctor notes. I was supposed to be out of work for 5 days, my boss called to verify the doctors note and the doctor renegotiated what the doctors note said and instead of being out for five days I was only out for two days, still in very bad pain. I was prescribed no medication whatsoever, and the only things that the doctors did while I was there was put a stethoscope to my back, have me breathe a couple of times, and send me on my way with an aspirin and Tylenol. I have been a customer of Presbyterian since I was 6 years old, I am now 26. Do yourself a favor and find the new hospital completely because Presbyterian service is going down in service. By the way my own doctor refused to talk to me and specifically told the nurse to tell me that she was refusing to talk to me, yet she can go ahead and speak to my boss behind my back and not notify me of anything and go over her own doctors note and then refused to talk to me about it after all the patience and kindness I showed. She needs to have her doctors license revoked, because this could cause a lawsuit. Until a director contacts me this review will remain.

Unbelievable. I called three times. Holds were 20, 25, and 30 minutes to reach a person. I was then transferred to another person to make a first apointment - no direct line for that. Hold time was another 15 minutes. The other two times I was assured somebody would call me back and nobody ever did.The lights arent even on over there. Just wow.

Kept me in the ER waiting room for 2 hours without pain medicine. I was literally screaming in pain and the nurses walked right past me. I was there for 7 hours, and they only gave me info in the last 15 minutes. They misdiagnosed me as well.If I had known how bad this hospital was i wouldve sucked up the pain and had the ambulance drive me to UNM even though it was the farthest away.

Kaseman is horrible. They make you wait forever, and the nurses can be very rude sometimes. My grandma fell and went here in an ambulance and they took 2 hours to see her and take her back. And when you tell them that youre in pain, they dont care, they just send you off and tell you to come back if the pain gets worse. Like that helps a lot. I wouldnt recommend this hospital to anyone. Its also pretty dirty too. Pres downtown is way better than Kaseman, I go to Pres downtown and I live right by Kaseman, thats how bad I think Kaseman is. Every time Ive gone here, or anyone I know, its been a horrible experience. Like I said, wouldnt recommend Kaseman to anyone.

Where do I even begin. We came because we were pretty sure that my girlfriend had broken her foot. The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful and the waiting area in the emergency room was absolutely disgusting. She was in a good amount of pain and they didnt do anything about the pain till we had been here for nearly 3 hours shortly before they took us to a room. She later got something that actually helped with her pain not the tylenol they gave to make us feel like they were trying to help her. She was complaining of her foot and they x rayd her ankle then later had to do more x Rays like why not just do them in the beginning when that was the possible area affected? We waited another 2 hours before we got those results back putting us at close to 6 hours at the emergency room with horrible help. We barely got checked on and it tended to feel like they had forgotten we were even there at times. Kaseman you deffinately have some work to do.

It seems like the staff goes one of two ways: nice and useless, or mean and useless. Nursing staff forgot to enter Mothers information into Epic (their medical system). Presbyterian hospitals dont carry contact information for all the doctors in the network, so we had now way of contacting the transferring doctor from a separate urgent care. Switchboard hangs up when you call. Its almost scary how bad the management, NP, and charting staff are.

Doctors may be good but the overall experience was terrible. They didnt have any information from our PCP. We had to come back to see a different doctor, because the first one wasnt the right expert. Then they didnt handle the insurance billing properly, and multiple calls have resulted in no paperwork being sent to insurance.

Excellent care from highly professional ER staff. For the people on here who are opiod-seekers or who think that hospitals/ERs should be run like resort spas or wine/cheese bars, get a grip. Your expectations and lack of contact with reality represent about 90 percent of your problem.

Due to urgent care being closed, many people are forced to the ER. Having said that, I called my insurance companys dial a nurse (we have military insurance and have to get a referral for urgent care.) I thought Id just pulled a muscle and was wanting urgent care. The nurse said I was having signs of a heart attack and to hang up and call 911. I didnt do that. I drove myself to the ER. It was a long wait, I arrived around 6:15p and left around 1am. The care was GREAT! The facility is being renovated, so theyre tight on space. Adrian, Sean, Devin and Dr. Yeargen were absolutely wonderful. I thank them for taking such good care of me, keeping things lively and keeping myself and my husband updated. I didnt end up being a heart attack, pancreas, kindey stone or blood clot... just a massive thoracic strain (left side). Im thankful they were so thorough.

Doctor was great and friendly as well. Im glad i chose this place as my primary clinic. Dont bother coming here. The front desk staff are incredibly rude and cant even pretend they care about what you need, and when you finally do get checked in you end up sitting in a room for hours without seeing a doctor or having any explanation of what you should expect. Just generally a lot of people who dont care if they waste your time or if you get the health care you need or not. You would be better off making the trip over to UNM or the Presbyterian on Central.

After two terrible experiences at the main UNM hospital and the UNM Sandoval hospital, I should’ve came here first. I’m not saying this lightly but I had amazing care. My nurse and doctor listened to my issues and checked on those specific areas, the were responsive, and caring. They gave my diagnosis, explained what was going on, gave me medicine and wrote down what it was called and told me when it would start working and what it does. UNM made me feel like a number they were trying to get out of the way and didn’t care either way if I left. The staff here was caring and you could tell they work like a team. Excellent team, excellent care, and knowledgeable. Thank you Kaseman Pres team!

No one likes to go to emergency rooms. Last Friday, I had severe stomach pains and was taken to Kaseman ER by ambulance where it was determined I had appendicitis. I arrived in the evening and spent most of the night there, but nurse Tony and all the staff, CT person, doctor, were all so nice to me and the biggest thing was that the pain management was excellent. I had to get surgery the next day at another hospital which ambulance took me to, but the pain management was excellent to hold me through the night. I am very grateful to the doctor and nurse for that. They were very fast and responsive if I needed to hit the call button, but I was checked on often, and I was not left hurting horribly from the pain. I have had the surgery and just got home today, but I wanted to thank Kaseman ER for a fine job!

They dont even deserve one star. I went in on the instruction from my obgyn office for postpartum depression. First the front desk staff are completely rude. Then I waited 2 hours to be seen. I get back there tell them whats going on and they push push push for me to have someone to pick up my kids and I dont have anyone so I tell them that but the came at me about it aggressively 4-5 different times. Then I explain to them that my kids have already been abused I dont trust anyone and that I have no one. So they try to take my kids because of the postpartum thoughts as well as claiming a red alert because theyd been abused in the past. Well no duh I said no to anyone being there to get them then. Idiots. So after that I just wanted to leave but they brought in 5 people 2 security guards to keep me from leaving trapping me and holding me hostage for what? Then finally when they let me leave after having been no help at all they misdiagnose me claiming I had anxiety when clearly its postpartum which is more than common with more than 3million cases per year in the U.S alone. There staff consists of pure uneducated rude idiots with no consideration or common sense. They are just the Devils play things.

Well after reading all these complaints... I have to say. I have been going to Presbyterian for over 6 years. And I had only one problem. If you want to even consider it a problem. I had to get my blood taken, the first time, I couldnt feel a thing except for a little pressure. But the second time I went it, the nurse was rough and had attitude. Now... I am 20 years now. I work everyday, and I give attitude to customers sometimes. Im not perfect and neither are these people. I absolutely love my doctor and my nurse. I love the ladies that check me in. They are always so polite. And yes busy considering the fact that its a hospital. I recommended this place to a couple of people, and they havent had any complaints. Quite honestly, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!

This hospital doesn’t clean their bathrooms and there was a lot of nasty stuff in them. Also, the hospital will let patients who are literally projectile vomiting sit right next to you and not bring them to a separate area. As medical professionals, you should not allow people who are exposing bodily fluids to OTHER PEOPLE. This has to be violating some kind of health code, all the nurses just looked at him and then looked away. Don’t go here, please.

They took my vitals at the beginning and that was all! My paperwork says they took it more than 3 times and magically they were all exactly the same. Took me 3 hours to get a cup of water. I have neurological issues and aspirate on my food and drink so infection in my lungs is a big deal. She had a very bad additude when I asked her questions. She gave me an antinausea since I couldnt stop throwing up but didnt bother to look up my other meds causeing me to have a bad drug interaction.Shame on this excuse of a dr.
