This dentistry is a top 1 on my list. My girlfriend has had bad experiences with past dentists but this place has been nothing but good to her. They made sure she was okay and through it all and even continued to check up on their patients a few days after the appointment. They are very careful and make sure any procedure is done well. I highly recommend this place for great service :)

I have not always had the best experiences at the dentist office, as Im sure most people havent... That being said, Albuquerque Mondern Dentist has exceeded my expectations over and beyond, within two months I had some serious to me dental work done, and was absolutely terrified I would experience pain during my procedures, but their specialists are AMAZING at what they do! Janice was great in walking me through the billing and also made sure I was taken care of! The staff is super inviting, friendly, and professional. This is the only dental provider I will ever recommend!

This people who practice and work here are very warm and committed to making the best experience possible for their clients, including being sensitive to my emotional needs after unexpected oral surgery. We are setting upon a special treatment protocol and I feel very well cared for.

I broke my tooth on a Sunday morning, I called Tuesday afternoon when I could not wait any longer, Dr. Urbane and his staff got me right in the door and within 2 hours I have a perfect new crown milled in the office. Amazing skills and amazing craftsmanship. I can not be happier! No longer do you have to go in get a mold and temporary crown then come back weeks later. At Modern Dentists it only take one visit..I highly recommend Modern Dentists in ABQ!

I’ve been going there for some time and it’s been a while so there was a new dentist. Always concerning by my appointment went amazing! My dentist informed me that I needed a deeper cleaning and we scheduled for a longer appointment but not just that, he explained to me why this was necessary and how I can avoid it in the future as well as ways that I can continue enjoying foods that aren’t great for my teeth while still caring for my oral health.My cleaning appointment was also fabulous! The dental hygienist was professional and fantastic at her job, it was a really deep cleaning where she had to dig into my gums to get everything and while My gums were a little sore after it went away super quickly.Lastly the reception staff was wonderful! I hardly had to wait and the check in process was easy. they were impressionable and enjoyable to talk too for the few minutes I did wait too.It was a lovely experience, and I’ll definitely be going back.

The staff is disorganized and have messed up on our appoints more then once. My wife came in for two procedures and instead of doing them both in one day, like they said, the staff broke it up into two days then the dentist had to get upset at them because it should have been done all at once, especially since she was pregnant and dental issues can affect the fetus.Then they canceled my appointment because I didn’t answer their phone call that came up as spam. If that is in their policy then they should say that so if someone misses their call they don’t take off of work for no reason.Also their process is salesmany they have you come in to tell you what they “will do” and then do nothing other then an exam and book you for another day. Again this place a zero regard for your time.They did nothing to try to resolve the issue, I would not recommend anyone go there that values their time.

Dr Urbane is AMAZING!!! I am deathly afraid of dentists and I had a tooth that was killing me so I decided to make an appointment. When I say deathly afraid I mean putting a cat in water afraid . They got me in same day and made me feel relaxed and calm. They gave me a prescription to help me sleep during my root canal and crown procedure a few days later and honestly it was the best experience EVER, I know that’s weird to say after a root canal but honestly this office treated me with such care, integrity and gentleness that I am actually looking forward to seeing my new guy Dr Urbane again for my regular care! Today was my first time seeing Dr. Urbane and Monique. I have been to the dentist about 6 times in the last 25 years and my experiences werent that great. Seeing Dr. Urbane has changed my view of going to the dentist. From start to finish my experience was amazing! The bedside manner of everyone in the office was fantastic. Dr. Urbane didnt make me feel like my mouth was a lost cause, he gave me options and I was able to receive treatment right after my exam. The hygienist was equally amazing. Monique was so thorough my teeth feel amazing. I will definitely be recommending him and Monique and continuing to see him for all my future dental needs. Im so impressed! Thank you both I cant say how appreciative I am!

AUGUST 2021Really smart people run the front office at Albuquerque Modern Dental (AMD). Sol, who just hired on, knew everything. I had a bad experience at a dental office in Tucson last February, but this office is the total opposite. Kayla is so knowledgeble and so thorough with periodontal work that I keep thinking of her as a DDS. She totally looks like one too. I dont trust anyone else to work on my teeth anymore but this office only. AMD is the standard of excellence in customer service while the teamwork, entheusiasm and professionalism of everyone who works there stand head-and-shoulders above the rest.MAY 2021No better place to get dental care anywhere on the planet. The people here function very effectively as a team. The energy in the building is so positive and encouraging. Janis was a huge help to me and so was Dr Urbane. Amazing dentist office. Dr. Urbane was clear and informative with the treatment plan and the hygenist Monique was awesome. Audri the dental assistant was sweet and gentle while taking my x-rays. Dr. Ye and her staff are very punctual, proficient, and professional . Dr. Ye identified a need for a gum tissue cleaning and a root canal and crown . I saw all of the X-rays and photos that clearly showed that I had the conditions that Dr. Ye identified . I at no time ever felt pressured to get anything other than the crown. The crown was important due to the giant cavity in my tooth and my tooth was close to breaking . She gave me a print out of all the costs and told me to think them over, I have a good insurance that covers about 80% of costs . I experienced no pain and was done within that same day . If you ever have questions about the procedures and the costs make sure you vocalize it to the staff they are more than transparent about it. All of the staff had been attentive , respectful, and helpful during each visit . I appreciate the quick but gentle care they have provided me at each visit .

By Far one of the best Dental experiences I have had. My appointment was at 9 am, but my sons appointment was at 8 am. They got us both in and they were able to get him all finished up and work on me as they were helping other patients. Most other dental offices you rarely see the dentist but 1 minute after they inspect their staffs work, not Dr. Yee- Pavia! She completed almost my entire exam herself. Her staff was amazing though to assist as they could as they were free with their patients. I felt so welcome. Its very unprecedented times right now and I know I had put off being seen, but I am glad that i choose to go back. Dr. Yee completely explained everything and really made my son and i feel safe! We need more people such as the entire team at This location on Menual and Louisiana. Thank you!

I had my first appointment here on 2/17/2020. My wife had already been coming for years before we were married in 2019. Without exaggerating, this was one of if not the best experience that I have had at a dentists appointment. They have new tech, so my sign-in and form filling was done on a tablet (I love saving paper). They have coffee and water available in the waiting room. Each of the staff members, including Dr. Yee, was very accommodating. Throughout my procedures (i.e, X-rays, oral exam, cancer screening, teeth cleaning, etc.) they would consistently pause to check in with me to make sure that I was doing okay. For those with insurance questions, I have Delta Dental, and that covered 90% of the payment for each of the services I received. I will be glad to come back in 6 months.

I have heard HORRIBLE things about this place! You guys should file complaints with the dental board, I believe the time limit is two years. You should also file grievances with the insurance companies. Contact your insurance company to find out the time limit. Remember, dental practices are required to provide you with your dental records for a minimum of six years whether you paid your dental bill or not, even if the dentist who did your work is no longer there. Dentists are also supposed to explain your treatment plan and advise you if there are any alternatives. Writing bad reviews on Google is a start, but lets tell someone who can do something about it. Nobody deserves to be treated poorly.

I encourage people to be very weary of going to this dentist office. I was a customer for several years, never had a problem until recently. I went in for a routine cleaning, was told that I was at risk of serious gum disease which could lead to other issues (which is funny because I had just seen my orthodontist to make a new retainer for me since it’s been years of having my braces off, and he told me my teeth and gums looked excellent). So they told me I’d have to schedule a deep cleaning, which I was open minded to, thinking no big deal I have insurance. But then I was told they wouldn’t do the routine cleaning that day since I “needed serious work” and was told the deep cleaning and whatever other service they said I “desperately needed” would be about $800. I have never had any issues with my teeth, no cavities, sensitivities, gum issues etc, and now all of a sudden I need serious dental work?!?!?! And reading through the comments it seems that other people have experienced similar scenarios. The dentist office seems like they’re just trying to rake in money by scaring people into thinking there is an issue.

Honestly I was blown away with the procedure Dr. Frye and his assistant did on me. They were good, fast and professional. Dont be fooled by how young many of their employees are because everyone seemed very knowledgeable. Highly recommended and Im glad I cancelled my other dentist appointment which was more expensive and failed to do the job right the first time . Keep up the good work guys and thanks again!

I had the same BAD Experience as some others they seem good at first but if you do not want to pay for more high cost treatment right away they do not want to work with you or do a cleaning they say it will make it worse. I have never heard of a cleaning making things worse they just want your money. The lady who did my cleaning was spaying water all over me and dripping down my neck multiple times so unprofessional she treated me bad because I did not want to spend more.money bottom line and they know it. The dentist came in like he was so nice and willing to work with me but they all just want your money I walked out on the middle of my cleaning because I was treated so bad.

Told me i needed a deep cleaning. Paid $130 and received a painful REGULAR cleaning that I could have got for free anywhere else. Boo, never going back and will tell all to stay as far away as they can. Additionally, the doctor did not wear a mouth cover and his breath was foul.

I moved to New Mexico from North Carolina and I looked online for a highly rated dentist before selecting this one. I went in for a teeth cleaning and in my 24 years I had never had a cavity when this dentist proclaimed that I had THREE. So I am used to trusting my dentist and I let her do work on my teeth. She filled my cavities but I had immense amounts of pain in the one she filled so I went back and she filled it down. During the filling, I had tears streaming down my checks and I could tell the dentist felt guilty. My mom happens to work as a receptionist at a dentist and she was skeptical that I would all the sudden have three cavities after having perfect teeth my entire life so she asked to have the x-rays sent over to her office to have the dentist she works for look at them. As it turns out, I had no cavities and this dentist was scamming me. In addition, she dug so deep into my one molar tooth that now I require a root canal. I would not recommend this dentist to anyone and if they tell you something, I highly suggest getting a second opinion. I am still dealing with the pain of fixing this tooth almost a year and a half later simply because this dentist wanted to make an extra buck off my insure company.

Dr Joshua Frye, was extremely accommodating to my family, also the hygienist, Monique Rasmussen, was very nice and made our whole experience go smooth!!! My dental insurance was about to run out and they had a very short time limit to help us out, and take care of all our needs, and they went above and beyond to help me and my children, in a timely manner, the girls at the front desk are so helpful in arranging all appointments!!! Everyone there is very nice and helpful, they all work together to make you happy and comfortable, I have been to several dentists in my life, and this place is fabulous!!! Thanks to all of the staff for their help, glad to have you as my familys dental experience!!!!!

I was in a pinch, and against my better judgement, I scheduled my appointment at this location for a Friday afternoon at 1 pm. I arrived a few minutes late, but when I walked in I was greeted by staff performing and a receiving a haircut at the reception desk. Now, Ive cut a few stray split ends with my scissors while on the clock before, but this was not the same at all. The young lady was in the receptionists chair, wearing a salon cape, and getting her tresses trimmed and straightened while patients were scheduled to arrive for appointments, in a DENTISTS OFFICE. Other staff were returning from lunch with laughs asking youre still at that?, which leads me to believe it was going on for quite a while or perhaps this wasnt the first time. Ive been a patient here for years and Ive never been unsatisfied with the care Ive received from Dr. Frye, I just wish I could have avoided his staff surrounding him.

I haven’t been to this place yet, but when I asked them about getting Invisalign they didn’t even offer it! This place is called modern dental after all?? Probably won’t make an appt here

This was, without a doubt, the best dental experience I have ever had. From the minute I walked in the door the receptionist/office manager was friendly and chatty. The dentist them came out, promptly at my appointment time, and talked to me about my needs and the reason for my appointment. Not only that, but he asked questions about my life and seemed generally interested in me as a person, not just a patient. The whole dental team was kind and comprehensive. Everything, even the costs of work, were explained in detail. Even as my teeth were being cleaned, every step was explained to me. To be clear, I did not need or ask for this treatment. I wasnt having work done and do not have anxiety about appointments. I was treated this way simply because I felt cared for. I have already referred my friends and family and plan on being a patient for a long, long time.

This was by far the best experience I have ever had. Dr. Conner was very patient, gave me options and made sure I was happy with the end result. Everyone in the office was very professional and friendly. I would highly recommend this dentist office!

So I went in for a routine cleaning, after a year without one and being new to Albuquerque. They were offering a special deal on X Rays plus cleaning, so I figured itd be worth checking out. I had already read a negative review on Yelp about this dental office shamelessly trying to upsell you multiple thousands of dollars in needless services, but Id thought, maybe that was only one persons perspective. I wont bore you with details, but within 30 minutes of x-ray they called in a Benefits Specialist with a clipboard who wanted to explain a payment plan for a deep cleaning running over $1500. Wait, I thought I was getting a regular cleaning? Oh but take a look at these x-rays theres a bump here you probably have advanced gum disease. WTF? At my last dentist visit nothing close to this diagnosis was given. So here we have the upsell! Then they rush me through a regular cleaning, in under 30 minutes, probably because I didnt want the deep clean (of my bank account). THEN these folks have the audacity to send a bill in the mail for an extra $60 on the regular clean deal Id already paid $90 for. Moral of the story, trust the Yelp reviews... Dont trust these shady businesspeople

My step dad is extremely ill and was unable to go in for the last fitting for his dentures, the technician brought his new dentures to the car then the dentist, Dr Frye, came out to the car to make sure they fit perfectIf I could give 100* I would bc I dont know of any other technician or Dr who would do this!!Thank you so very much for caring so much for my family and my step daddy!!!

Customer of 6 years. Never going back again.My last cleaning I was told I have Pre-peridontal disease in one molar. They said I would need to come for cleanings at least every 4 months and if we did not get it under control I would need a deep root cleaning. This freaked me out. They never saw any problems like this before and all of a sudden I need this huge descaling?!?Funny thing is my sister, who is crazy obsessed with keeping her teeth clean, was just told the same thing today. They said it would cost $800?!I dont know when we stopped being able to trust these guys but I am never going back.If they recommend a deep clean RUN and get a second opinion.

TL/DR version: they charge too much, they charge for unnecessary things, everything needs updating - go elsewhere. Theres a really great practice not even a block away (if you want to stay Uptown - get it?) that I would recommend highly.When I first moved to Abq post grad school I chose this location after reading the reviews - at the time they were above average. When I moved to the other side of town I switched to their other practice Abq Modern Dentistry off of Coors. Both locations have the same aesthetic - it was clearly modern and upscale when they opened but a lack of maintenance and upkeep means it just always looks a little dingy and lot worn. The one positive is that the dentists Ive had - with the exception of one dud - have all been fine. Not amazing, but also not mediocre. Though maybe the high turnover of dentists says something...Actual issues:*I moved back to this side of town and returned to this office - neither location ever shared my records with the other so it looked like I took a several years break between visits.*They do unnecessary things like take your blood pressure for routine semi-annual cleanings - this is so they can charge your insurance. It has no dental purpose, and no other dentist office in this town (or that Ive ever been to anywhere and I am a twice-a-year dental cleaning person) does this. (Obviously knowing your blood pressure is necessary before surgery - it is not necessary for applying flouride)*The front office staff was always talking to each other and distracted (or maybe not so competent) - it is not a patient forward feeling or office.*A few years ago when there was a spate of news stories about whether or not flossing was effective (you should still floss!) according to the HHS I asked my dentist at the time (he is no longer with the practice) if this was true. He had no idea what the medical journal article was about, or what the news coverage was saying - and this is for something so crucial to dentistry - flossing!*Pricing was always more than what my colleagues were paying at their similarly modern dentist offices. Certainly more than what I pay at the higher quality, more aesthetically pleasing, better trained, technologically advanced dental office I switched to about half a block away.

Highly recommend. Awesome staff & dentist, Dr Pham. Broke a temp crown while in Albuquerque attending a funeral. Saw me 5 mins before closing. In & out in an hour with a new temp crown. Very reasonably priced. So thankful there are still professionals that go that extra mile for people.

After going to this dentist for years I went in today for a routine cleaning.After doing some general measurements, in which they dug and scrapped at my gums very hard compared to what Im used to, basically forcing them to bleed, I was informed I had pre-pariodontal disease,(looked it up, doesnt exist).They than proceeded to fear monger me into believing I was going to be suffering from a number of horrible illnesses if I didnt get this worked done ASAP with a deep clean and root descaling. Their new dentist was horribly condescending, asking me what my goals were, and if I wanted to keep my current teeth.She finally get around to telling my about the issue. I asked for cost, they informed me itd be $700+(cant recall exact cost) to get the descaling done, theyd throw in the top jaw for free. And then recommended their pay plan.I said no, and they proceeded with the original cleaning. Only now it seemed I wasted to much of their time, becuase the cleaning I paid for was minimal at best and nothing compared to what I used to get.Alittle bit of research on other peoples reviews show alot of this same issue.Im going to get a second opinion, and if they are proven correct Ill change/update my review. Until than I wouldnt recommend them.The ladies at the front are the only real plus, every one of them are awesome.

Got the special 65dollar cleaning and xray. They didnt clean my teeth. Now i need root canal and they say they not in my insurance network

Absolutely this place sets the standard. Called with a very bad toothache and they got me in within 15 minutes. Root canal done onsite and then fitted me with a state of the art (3D printed) crown.Ill never go to another dentist!!!

Went in for an emergency root canal with no problem and they even stayed after hours to help me. Because of the good experience I already had, I returned for an exam and then was told i needed a laundry list of work. Basically, a couple more root canals and scaling and root planing. They had me believe that this was an absolute emergency and needed to get everything asap. I ended up leaving without any work. This didnt sit right with me so I chose to find a second opinion. When i went to another dentist, was told that i didnt need ANY root canals or scaling and they were absolutely in shock that I was told so. They even said that I had great teeth. Abq Modern Dentists just wanted more money out of me.
