Dr. McDonald is the best and the staff here are amazing. If it was not for them I probably would never try for anymore kids after my miscarriage. Dr. McDonald has been so supportive through out this whole process and explained every little detail. The ladies up front worked me in quickly and Carrie in the lab gave me her direct contact so I could call and check on my results whenever I wanted. I can’t say enough good things about this office and the staff.

I’ve had the worst experience ever with this facility. I went for a bartholin gland that was a cyst but not infected or bothering me at all. I’m only 23 and Dr McDonald suggested having my whole gland removed. Obviously I listened to his medical advice and had the surgery. I was told it was a minor surgery and he did not tell me how intense the process really was. I had the surgery on March 17th and needed to see him within a few days but he was on vacation and the best part.. NO ONE COULD SEE ME. This resulted in me being in the ER, twice. My leg was numb, I had a bruise that covered my bottom around to my leg and up my back. I was in so much pain. He finally seen me on the 30th just to tell me I’m okay and he’ll see me in 4 weeks. I had developed a huge hematoma from surgery and he told me it was fine/normal. To let it go away on its own. That resulted me back in the ER because it was so infected it was about to burst. I healed from the hematoma but I’m still so swollen. I went to another office to get a third opinion and my new doctor seems to believe Dr McDonald did not successfully remove my whole gland. Therefor I am having the same issue as before because my gland that was supposed to be removed is now filling back up. I have went through this all for nothing now. I am scared physically and emotionally. It’s been over 6 weeks and I still have stitches. I’m still swollen and hardly any feeling. My new dr told me I just have to wait and see if there’s actual nerve damage. 10/10 worst experience possible and not to mention this surgery isn’t recommended on women under 40. I wish I would have known.

The doctor and staff were very professional, kind, and understanding. Dr. Jones was new to me, and I really liked him. I went in for a problem that Dr. Jones quickly diagnosed. I highly recommend this practice!

Thomas McDonald is probably the worst doctor I’ve ever seen. Absolute no care for a pregnant woman. The negligence he has for his patients is pathetic.

This is the worst doctor’s office I have ever been to. I wish I could give it 0 stars. The doctors have good bedside manners, but everything else is bad enough to negate that. In addition to never returning calls or messages, they have:Lost my referral to the high-risk specialist twiceMixed me up with another patient and referred me to an orthopedic doctorBeen unable to read my chart to see previous diagnoses that I can even see on the app, leading to me to being off medicines that I should have been back on when the second trimester startedThis is my first pregnancy that has gone past 6 weeks, and I’m scared to go back because if they’re this bad now, who’s to say they won’t mess my delivery up or confuse me with another patient that wants something completely different during labor. If Novant in Charlotte will take me, I am definitely planning on going there.

Weve had nothing but a headache from this office. My fiance pulled her records today and is already set up at a new office. Not once but twice her appointment was messed up, the first time this was corrected right in the niche of time but today we went in and there was no doctor for her to even see nor did she get the ultrasound that she was supposed to have, but that again they didnt schedule correctly.

They are just the worst. Im 37 weeks pregnant and havent been seen since January 5th. They have called and canceled my last two appointments. I should be seen every week now, and it will be over a month Ive been in by the time they see me next. I feel rushed and like Im an annoyance to them every time I go in. I called once with a concern of losing my mucus plug at 34 weeks, I had to call back 3 times before getting a note from a doctor saying loosing a mucus plug is normal and the patient does not need to be seen understanding that it is normal, I just wanted reassurance and to know if it truly was that so I could take it a little easier at work. I was totally disregarded with my concern. They called and canceled my appointment for January 19th and said they couldnt see me until February 2nd, they called today to tell me they needed to cancel that appointment and the earliest they could see me is February 9th. This office is just unprofessional in my eyes and I feel totally neglected in my care. I pray for my sake, my childs sake, and the office that nothing is wrong with her that they could have prevented had I been seen on time like i should have been. I truly cant wait to be done with them and strongly advise anyone thinking of going here, to go some where else. This isnt even full detail about how much of a nightmare they have been. No expecting mother, especially a first time expecting mother, should feel this way.

I used to see Dr. Shen in Albemarle, N.C. Just a little over a year ago, I started going to Stanly Womens Services in Albemarle, NC. At first I was very satisfied with my doctor and the care I received and now just after a year I feel everything has decreased. They do not call to let you know when you are du for exams and a lot of times I have to call 2 and 3 times about something. Yesterday I went in for my yearly exam and I had to tell them that because they thought it was a 6 month re-check. Then my doctor comes in and literally spends 2 minutes with me (including the exam)Then I just played happy because who wants to make waves at an OBGYN? Dont get me wrong, staff and the doctors are very friendly and professional, I just didnt feel like it was what it used to be. I felt unimportant and then to top it off I requested (and the doctor agreed) for different birth control and I call the pharmacy today and they have called THE SAME MEDICATION I HAVE BEEN ON in. I think I will be looking for a new doctor soon. Not feeling like this is any better than the treatment I received from Dr. Shen. He at least spent time with me and explained my medication and what it would do etc. etc.
