Very nice and inviting place for SENIOR citizens to get together for social and educational activities. I am going for Tai Chi for Arthritis classes. I am enjoying it even though I have difficulty in doing some movements. They have lunch at 12PM for $5 each person. I think the lunch is very good for the price.
Awesome center for senior citzens to participate in many activities designed to help
Very clean environment. Excellent staff everyone nice an polite........ ok here we go !!! I just happened upon Soeega council on aging by mistake. I was at the River Walk an my wife an I decided to go into the visitor center. Where we picked up a few pamphlets. We noticed Sowega was having a health fair free of charge. We rushed over there , we arrived just as health fair was ending. One of the staff members suggested we take a tour. I was impressed. I was told senior citizens can attend for free once they reach 60 years of age . I had 3 months to go before I’d qualify. My birthday rolled around. Finally I’m a senior citizen . So I did a follow up went to Sowega to sign in . Great !!! Let me say this . I’m a healthy senior I work out two hours a day , everyday. I attended the chair yoga class . Went home feeling fantastic. Decided to go to a chair fitness class . I left home think I don’t want to show everyone up because I’m really pumped up ( athletic body ) class had started maybe 5 minutes before I’d arrived. So all the seats I’d planned in taking were occupied. So I sat in the second row directly in front of instructor . Thinking to myself this will be a breeze why am I here .... Within the first 20 minutes I was very fatigued. One attendee passed me a paper towel to wipe the sweat from my head an face another handed me a bottle of water! I felt like walking out saying to myself, I’m not coming back . That’s class wore me out ! Shirley the instructor introduced her self after class . I will be back to attend more classes. I need more flexibility. You must pay Sowega a visit. Unfortunately I can’t remember the chair yoga instructor name she did a fantastic job as well.P. S. I’m a regular participant in chair yoga class now . In the beginning I had a hard time bending over to tie my shoelaces not to mention putting my shoes on , along side with putting my pants on . I was just that stiff . After a couple sessions of chair yoga I noticed a huge difference in my flexibility. I highly recommend every senior or junior citizen to take this class . Strength training is good however without yoga or Pilates your doing your body more harm than good. Waiting too snap like a twig . Robin is a very knowledgeable an caring fitness instructor. Thank you Robin !
Wonderful place for senior citizen 60+ to go to engage with other Seniors through fun programs like exercise, games, informative classes, but the best is the nutritious meals served.mon-friday🍴
