The thrift store. Wednesdays and Fridays are for women starting at 9:15 they start giving out the first set of tickets. They changed it and nobody ever told me the truth and I found out today. But I did get a ticket and I do believe it was around 10:00 in the morning I was number 37 but unfortunately the person thats calling the numbers and I know Friday is going to rain but oh well theyre always going to be there and I can go on any giving Wednesday or any given Friday but youre only allowed to go once a week so if you decide to go on Wednesday you cant go back on Friday that was the rule before but Im not sure so youll have to call blessingdales store through Albany mission and find out the correct information I do not have all the correct information enjoy your days be safe be healthy and be happy and remember youre the only one that can make yourself happy

I really dont know much about this place as I was just donating. So from my end of the spectrum they seem to be trying their best especially in a now society riddled with this virus. I had catered food that was going to waste and was untouched and my daughter called and they accommodated us by taking this donation off our hands. And I was happy😊. I also donated clothing prior and they made the transaction for me and my daughter very easy by coming out to help in both instances. They also had their mask on and it made us both felt safe. Im also sure they could use donations in masks and gloves as well.I also have to say that Im glad City Mission is making it easier for food donations cause this pandemic has gotten us bended in all sorts of way and if I have a small gathering and there is good food that is untouched, and left over, it feels great to know I can donate it here without it having to go to waste. So thanks City Mission!🙌😇

The Capital city rescue mission, violates the peoples constitutional rights regarding freedom to practice ones own religion. They make you pray to their god and sit through their sermons before each meal, and if you dont then they will not feed you. I am not a Christian, but I am betting that Jesus would not approve. Shame on them.

We all learn different lessons n life and I have learned that COVID 19 prevents a lot of Homeless Agencies to use the fact that they are working remotely, but yet it shouldnt take six weeks for myself to receive some type of assistance. People are truly being given a chance 2 Rise 2 The Occasion!!!

A recent tour of the mission and weekly attendance at Celebrate Recovery meetings on Friday evenings have been excellant experiences.

Went to the rescue mission to preach the gospel. Always a great time when we go!

The people here are terrific! They help any and everybody in need. And they give the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has made real changes for many people there.

What a beautiful place filled with hearts that wavy to help others as Jesus told us to!!! Im so blessed to have been able to see what this mission truly does. Thank you for all of your work and dedication.

I just got home after dropping off a few bags of donations here. The entire experience was extremely pleasant and welcoming. From the phone call earlier in the day to make sure I could bring stuff in, to showing up at the front desk and being greeted by a kind and smiling face. I turned around and suddenly there were 5 or 6 guys ready to help me unload and each one was more polite and helpful than the last. No one should have to do a song and dance in order to get help from the community. I definitely didnt expect an entourage, but I cant say it didnt make my day to get so much help. These guys helped me a lot more than I helped them with my donations. I was able to purge some belongings for my upcoming move but more importantly, they made me feel good about myself. It was an honor to donate here and I hope I have the opportunity to do so again.

I cant give a full review but what I did see was very sad. I had to leave due to having COPD and half the people there not wearing mask and all congregated into a small area, where the six feet apart was not in effect nor was the mask requirements. Staff seem nice amd have to deal with a lot. It also didnt help when I got there, there were two police cars and fire truck for an intoxicated person.

Celebrate recovery Monday at 7pm next to blessingdales is an all mens 12 step religious program check it out!!

Not good..staffs good..anything can happen at anytime...staff can only do so much too calm the madness that happens here..its not there fault..too much is happening. Can be dangerous at anytime

The worst experience in my whole life

People were standing in line to get food and Christmas gifts. The mission does an outstanding job at both.

My wife and I are members of our church choir. We were at the mission to perform the same songs we and our church choir will be performing in our church tomorrow.

One of the worst shelters you can ever have to pass through the volunteers care more than the staff

I attend the City mission rescue frequently for basically lunch and I do go there for holiday get-togethers for Christmas and Easter and Thanksgiving at times. This is a nice place to be when you dont have any family to spend it with. Theyre open 24 hours a day if you ever need shelter you should go there and inquired and maybe they can help you find something. the people that work there are very friendly so long as they give them a good attitude as you walk in.

I come here for lunch and a nice church service before the free lunch. Its good to hear the word of God. To remind all of us we have a lot to be thankful for. Lunch is served at 11:30 am Monday-saturday. Sunday there is NO LUNCH. ADINNER IS SERVED AT 4:30PM. YOU MUST ATTEND THE CHURCH SERVICE IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE FREE DINNER MEAL.

Terrible Shelter. I would give it -1 stars if I could.1. You cant use your cellphone ANYWHERE in the building. You cant even sit and play with your phone, even with its volume down. If they see you even touching it, they claim they can throw you out. They make you charge your phone and use it outside regardless how cold or chilly it is.2. There is NO stalls in the mens bathroom. You have to sit on the toilet with no door AND basically in front of everyone. They said its for security reasons. What the hell?! NO PRIVACY WHATSOEVER!3. The staff are extremely rude. Some are nice, most are not. They treat you like you are stupid. Some even swear and cuss up a storm.4. Its too crowded and small. Its definitely not large enough to house the amount of people that are there currently. (6/16/20165. Staff dont do anything to help you. I asked why we arent allowed to use our cellphones in the building and one of them said Look, we dont have to explain it to you.Overall: Terrible. Avoid this shelter if you can!

Im very pleased with the work of Gods servants at the Rescue Mission in Albany NY. They help so many lives that enter the building. Im actually here at the Mission getting my life in order, with the help of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I thank God for the Mission and Gods Servants, Perry Jones for following Jesus Christ for doing Gods will in coming together with other believers in putting this work in motion. Of helping a wretch like me, and countless others who are seeking help. Today, Im walking in the light. Opposed to walking in darkness. And feels so much better. For that, Im grateful! Look I know you hear about the Mision, but let me tell you my experience my second day they gave me a bed upstairs I could not believe how clean the facility was in every day I was there for that whole month the meals was unbelievably delicious the chefs there really know their stuff they gave me help to go forward and get my apartment I have met some really nice people there and services in the chapel was a place that really helped me to think and want to move forward for a better life if you are struggling and need help I really do suggest the Capital District mission it really is a great place to start to move forward.

A Good place to get on your feet when you are struggling to stop over. But needs greater Counseling Services outside of their Program. I like that they serve the Lord.

Good place to go if you need shelter they wont turn you away and they will feed you also

Just went to blessingdales for the first time today its a great thing they do for people as I was just released from incarceration, however as I was number 66 in line waiting I noticed that the first probably 10 people that came out had probably 5-6 garbage bags filled with jeans, sneakers, childrens toy still in the box and a lot of household items like pots pans and dishes, then proceeded to load them into brand new trucks and SUVs, and from what I heard these are guys who run thrift stores and things like that who come here early and take all the better items to re-sell at their stores, I think this is disgusting and selfish, especially when there are so many people in need with no income that need these things just to survive, by the time I got in there were no jeans or sneakers left at all, I was also looking for some toys for my daughter for Easter which were also all gone and not a single other person after the first group left with anything like that. This is absolutely terrible and they should be ashamed of themselves. Next time I will have to get there much earlier to even have a chance. There should be some kind of screening process for people like this or at least a limit to what they can take. I would have given 5 stars if it wasnt for the greed and lack of caring by the 5-10 men who take advantage of such a great place.

Theres not enough shelters for women and children. And the system has most men move from shelters to shelter every 30 days.. The government of nys says it in debit. If thats so true why is that there is a sound barrier going up on 87 North bound. Up by the Latham area.tji

A really solid place. The administration is very well organized. This is a great place to go if you need help and a great place to donate if you dont. Im proud this is in my city.

Ill never forget today I got you the Rescue Mission I was released from Schenectady County Jail February 28th or 2018 I was there for 4 months and was under the bed and undernourished Im a type 2 diabetic and also an addict I was exposed to the elements of extreme cold for 2 days having no place to go and I was led by the spirit down to the mission but when I got to the front door I collapsed and when I woke up it was 12 hours later in the emergency room at Albany Med they told me that I was under nourish and that I needed rest so I went back to the mission and I found out and I found out about the Christian Fellowship Ministry what a wonderful experience I experienced there finding out so much about the Lord Jesus Christ if it wasnt for divine intervention leading me into the mission I would have never had a clue that it was not the drugs that I was addicted to it was just send so with that being said anybody who reads this here I need to let you know 4 months later I now have my own apartment planning on going back to work part-time and Im still going to the Christian Ministry program its the best thing and all the years that Ive been struggling with this problem that I ever and I mean ever had I can go on and on expressing my gratitude for this newfound experience but you have to be a believer you have to be a believer in God and you have to be a believer in yourself

Decent shelter but there needs to be more for homeless women and women and children too. But they do not shelter women and children in the Albany mission. I also that sheltering the men should a longer period than 30 days. Its bad enough housing avaibilty is so hard to find. It is so true that refugees do not stay in the shelters as Americans do. As for our process of getting housing so backed 🆙 it is nonsense. I feel that any American single female, single male or family or the under age of 18 should be shelters for them. For dumb reasons it is not happening. Thats why so many individuals give up on our system of housing and become homeless with being mentally sick. Or worse things life. The pain these American individuals feel shouldnt be. Its bad enough that your shelter boots the men in 30days with no where to go. This is total BS. It doesnt occur with refugees. But Americans get the end of short stick. Yes prefer to be homeless but not all. I have tried to talk with the homeless on streets but theyre all afraid to freedom of speech. ....WHY? ????? THESE AMERICANS HAVE GIVING UP...WAITING LISTS ARE LONG BUT REFUGEES GET HOUSED. ...UNBELIEVABLE. IN WHICH COST MORE TO HOUSE AND HELP WITH SUPPORT TO MAINTAIN A REFUGEE. THAN A AMERICAN. Im not dummy but I know something is NOT RIGHT IN YOUR GOVERNMENT SYSTEM. WHATS BEING NOT TOLD TO US AMERICANS.

Owner is corrupt. Money is stolen from clients who work and pay rent. Thats why he owns a nice pick up truck.

When going to blessingdales for help with a blanket because it was extremely cold I didnt realize they just closed so I told the women I was in extreme need she yelled at me and said WE ALL ARE IN NEED no help. So where is their love?

I am VERY GRATEFUL for the medical clinic at the Mission. I have been able to get my physicals here for free & it has been a Blessing! Thank You!

Anyone who has anything negative to say about this place is obviously bitter and walked out the same as when they walked in. I screwed up while in their program, I lied about it and was asked to leave. These are good people, who struggle just as much as those who they are called to help. I challenge anyone to step into Matts shoes, or any other staff member for that matter and see if you last a week. Their responsibility is to maintain the integrity of the facility. IF PEOPLE WERE NOT SHOOTING UP AND DYING IN THE BATG ROOM STALLS, MAYBE THEY WOULD HAVE DOORS. This place has helped far more people than anyone who has a complaint will help in their life time. So shut up, and go do something positive, you far behind already.

I can only speak from the point of view of one dropping off donations, but the staff was friendly and super helpful. Helped me unload my truck and were incrediblely friendly.

Clean, safe and great staff, the Gospel goes forth every night, helping people free clinic, free clothing, and food

Took a physical got medication people were very friendly and they also was efficient

Never stayed there. However, used their other services with great success.

I was told by someone that this place was much more than a homeless shelter... They said these people could help! I got laid off and needed things like diapers, feminine hygiene products, baby food and dish soap... They asked what size for diapers, I said 3... So they offered my 6 month old BOY, size 3T GIRLS pullups. Other than that they had plenty of USED undergarments... Ugh...

A place that is much needed in this day and age. I donate clothes there and the staff are so appreciative.

Its a place were people thats lost can find God and have church service and have a hot meals and a safe place to stay at night off the streets and for those who work and have jobs we can save our money while looking for a apartment and place for ourselves and our love ones so if you come here just work follow the rules work and save your money this place can and Will work for us as long as we trust in God and ourselves Amen..
