Going to Mildred Elley had been a very rewarding experience. I have had only excellent teachers who are truly there for you & want to see you succeed. I have made good friends & although there is a lot of work & studying involved there is also fun to be had at Mildred Elley.

I like that online and on campus classes are available to the students at Mildred Elley College. This gives students a realistic view of the work force. Work may be done in the office and online. However, some classes should be on campus classes only. Last module I have taken Business Law online. There is a lot of detail in the course work for this class. Some of the legal terms were difficult to understand. I was able to seek help through tutoring and I passed the class with an A-. I believe if Business Law was an on campus class I would have had a much better understanding of the course work.

The school was very expensive and I owe a lot of loans which did help me while working part time in school. Overall the school was ok despite professors getting fired or leaving. The school made and exception for my child to come to class some days when I had no baby sitter. I received my medical assistant degree and found one of the highest paying jobs in Albany. Tyler who helped me with my resume and interview skills is great he helps to find jobs.

I love going to thus college. Class sizes are small. Lots of help from instructors, other classmates and staff. Very rewarding to be known by name!

Worst mistake Ive ever made going there. Majority of the teachers are incompetent and arent even educated in what they teach. Very expensive for the nursing program. Whenever I asked for help, I would not get it. Any time I had a complaint I wouldnt get an answer. Now Im trying to go to a different school and the only way I can get my transcript is by paying off any fees I owe them. This school is a huge scam, waste of money and time. Dont bother going here. Wish this school would close down or have better people working there.

If I could give a negative star rating I would. If you plan on going back to school to further your education dont waste your time with this joke. They are Nationally accredited MAYBE and NOT Regionally accredited that most legitimate colleges need to transfer any credits. Dont waste your money. Go to a real school. I essentially was told too bad when it comes to getting my Bachelors Degree because nothing I did through this place is useable for transfer.

This school is a complete waste of time and money, your education will get you nowhere considering the amount of money you will pay to attend here. Your credits are virtually useless because they fail to voice that this is not a REGIONALLY accredited school. Is it NATIONALLY accredited, IF THAT! it means nothing if you plan of furthering your career in the future! do your RESEARCH. do not make the mistake I did. it is completely unorganized, and the staff for the most part is disrespectful and rude.(some of my professors were great people) remember this is a FOR PROFIT school. they DO NOT care how they get their money out of you, nor do they care about the quality of education served to you. best of luck on your future endeavors at a REAL SCHOOL.

I attended Mildred Elley from 2001-2003 and got my medical assistant degree. Overall, my experience at the school was pretty good. The problem was that I was saddled with a huge student loan debt. Then, come to find out many years later, that I could not sit for either the certified medical assistant exam or the registered medical assistant exam for whatever reason. And even if I could, 90% of what would have been on the exam was never covered in the courses. This has limited my employability.I had gotten in touch with them a few years back enquiring about their LPN course and was told that I still owed them money. That is not possible as 100% of my $13,000 tuition was covered by loans & PELL. Plus, you cant graduate if you owe money. I never received a billing statement saying that I did owe anything nor have I received anything since. If I had known then what I know now, I would have made a different choice. Definitely not worth the $13,000 tuition.**Addendum: I was contacted by Mildred Elley today to follow up on my review. They are working hard at changing their image and to become more accommodating to past and current students.

Good professors and staff. Programs are ok. I dont believe the education received is worth that high of a price tag.

I attended the New York City campus located at 25 Broadway. My experience at Mildred Elley was a pleasurable one. I had the opportunity of meeting some real knowledgeable professors and other faculty staff. Mr. Farrington, Mrs. Angella, just to name a few. From the start everyone was involved making the transaction a smooth one. Financial Aide staff were awesome! Very polite, open and knowledgeable. Classroom settings were comfortable, where everyone could get help and attention from the professor. For clinicals, we had some of the very best clinical professors who made sure we grasp as much information as possible. They took the time to explain procedures and challenged us along the way.To prepare us for NCLEX, we were provided with books which were paid for through financial aide; ATI first then we switched to Kaplan. Free classes were provided for anyone interested. I was wonderful! I appreciated everything.Career Services helped us to prepare resumes, cover letters, and prep for interviews! They help us with job search and placements also. Even though I didnt get a job through them, they helped others who were placed.Like ever school there are ups and downs, nothing serious. But if you have a goal and set the standards and your priorities right you will definitely make it. Read ahead of class by following your syllabus and study hard! I really wish they did the RN program, Id definitely be in the front! I passed my NCLEX on the first attempt with 75 questions! Thanks Mildred Elley! Graduated June 2012!

I was a student at Mildred elley. and graduated with my medical assistant back in 2009 it was not a good experience at that time however am back to get my LPN and my experience now is even worse its  terrible. This place is very racist I cant stand it how racist they are whenever I would go to my Department of chair she says that I have an attitude problem which I dont she does. you would take problems all the way to the Dean or even the president for the school and they wouldnt even do anything about it and I think thats all because Im black. This School needs to be shut down I really dont know how its still up and running with all these complains and how terrible this school is. 80% of the instructors there does not know what theyre doing they cannot teach you anything and will not teach you anything that will help you passed your boards, youre going to be doing all of this stuff by yourself youre just wasting your time and  money to go to this school. You might as well go to a Kindergarten class because thats how they make you feel at Mildred elley as if you are a child. If youre attending a school and your instructor is not teaching you what you need to know and you are failing the quiz that shows you that the school is terrible. the instructor is terrible and theyre not doing anything to correct their mistakes this school needs to be shut down. This school is all about money thats all they care about they dont care if youre getting a proper education that you need to pass your boards and to be a good nurse they dont care they would rather you stick with an instructor that youre having problems with so they can get paid. I will not stop until this school gets looked at by the bigger heads whoever I need to speak to I need to go to I will do those measures because this place is terrible. I have bad anxiety and depression and since Ive been attending Mildred elley its gotten worse Ive been going more to doctors all that stuff all because of Mildred elley this school is making me so suicidal I can hardly take it. this needs to stop before things get worse then what it is right now I dont need to kill myself because of Mildred elley I have a family 3 kids a husband to go home to I need to live and be happy and Mildred elley isnt making that happen I am so over this school I have 4 months left and I cant wait for it to be done. Again students please dont waste your time going to Mildred elley if youre looking to become a nurse or any programs that they cover please Choose Wisely do not I repeat do not go to Mildred elley they are the worst school in America worst school in America pay your money and go somewhere else research somewhere else do not go to Mildred elley.

I would give no stars if I could. Like others have said, nothing but problems and waste of money. I wrote a review once then took it down after being called in to talk with the Dean. Foolish me for thinking things would change. First off, overpriced for the education that you will get, very unqualified and unprofessional staff. If you want class to start on time with a instructor ready to teach, good luck. 90% of the time they show up late or at the exact time class starts, then they need 10-15min to get ready, what a joke. If you want to go to a horrible LPN program then yes please come here. Very unprepared and overvalued, the lab room is never stocked with needed supplies, the classes consist of looking at PowerPoint slides of the text book, no actual teaching is involved. With that said, you have to hope and pray you can get your books. I started back on the 23rd and no books, they werent in yet. So now going into week 2, no books and playing catch up, and thats if my books come in this coming week. How does this even happen, books should be in Stock before classes even end, unless you are changing books, then even then better planning should be done. Now for clinicals, thats a joke, you pay Mildred elley for LPN clinicals, but only get CNA training... on the plus side, some staff and departmentsee are good and care. Registrar office and financial aid have been on point and very helpful, along with some secretarial staff. With out naming names, 1 out of every 20 instructors they have are actually good and can really teach, the others are just laughable. If you have problems, you are told to go to you department Chair, thats a joke as well. First you gotta hope they are in when they say they are. Even then its a waste, all you will get accomplished is wasting your breath talking to a very rude and unprofessional person.. so to sum up this rant..... do not waste your time, money, energy, or life coming here unless you like wasting money. I wouldnt even send my worst enemy here.. I go to Albany NY campus

My wife attended this school a few years back for her MA degree and after she graduated she had a hard time finding work. Most employers want you to have a years plus experience prior to hiring you, so it was hard finding work straight out of school. On the rare occasion that she did get called back for an interview, she didnt get any further than that because she wasnt trained to draw blood and they also wanted her to have some kind of certificate that the school offers for only 6mths training. So she basically spent a year in a half in school to do a job that employers only wanted a 6 mth certificate for which nof course she didnt have because she did the associates program. My wife called the school to ask about why a certificate was needed if she had a degree and was only given the answer of thats just what the employers are asking for now. M.E. told her that they were actually offering classes for this certificate for the alumni at half price....lol...half price after everything was added in and added on was basically full price plus some. Fast forward to present day, as bad as my wife hates this school....shes back at it again trying to obtain her LPN. she only decided to attend again because of course they called her telling her that they could transfer her credits from before to this program so that she would only be in school for a year vs 18 mths. While i will support her through this im preparing myself for the heartbreak she will face when all this bull is said and done again.I dont have faith in Mildred Elley and i hate that she chose this school again!!! In a years time i will be back with the update. My guess is...she wont be as JOB READY as they tell their students they will be, and she will struggle to obtain employment.
