CDPHP has made my life absolute hell. I have had serious medical issues the past year and they have done nothing but create unnecessary stress which has contributed to making my pain significantly worse. Many member services employees give out inaccurate information, are unknowledgeable and approval processes lack reasonable logic. There is a reason a lot of doctors are leaving the Albany area and many of them agree CDPHP is contributing to the turnover by making money their number one concern. I have submitted my concerns and their response was a letter stating they are sorry I feel this way.

GIVE DEBBIE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE A RAISE she is an absolute gem and explained everything so well!!! Im turning 26 and getting my own insurance and dont really know much of anything yet and she was so sweet and explained it simply for me to understand. Seriously incredible customer service!!

Ive always gotten very good customer service! Many times the rep has looked into the matter and explained clearly the information I needed. Id been on MVP years ago; I wasnt fond of them and was happy to return to PHP..

Never have a problem when I call. My questions are answered promptly & professionally. Have had them for years & plan to keep them as long as needed.

Keep canceling and lowering dosages of medications.. it a huge hassle to get any procedures approved.. and life changing medications are denied this place is a joke id be better off putting the 1200 a month away and paying cash for medications and procedures 14400 a year waste of money

Called CDPHP (12 times!)to complain about fraudulent charges.Spoke to the fraud unit. And the regular number.Complaining about Linncare.They have billed 6 months worth of bogus charges!I stopped using the Company in three days. Got billed for 6 months!Even after complaining 12 times! They were paid through JUNE!Don’t know what the relationship is ? But definitely uncomfortable to complain on CDPHP behave and be blown away!They paid 6 Months of charges on my behave even though I did not receive!

Anthony who I talked to for awhile was extremely helpful and outstanding service. Cdphp is by far the BEST!!

It may have more to do with Caremark, but that is who CDPHP decided to partner with. I just spent over 10 minutes trying to get an operator on the phone. I went through two people who didnt have a clue as to what they were talking about, and then the second one had to put me on hold for another 4 minutes and counting before I hung up. Basic questions should have no problems being answered by people who CDPHP / Caremark have representing them on the phones. This is such poor customer service.

The Albany CDPHP office and its case workers are fantastic. They assist you with health insurance needs, they help in contacting doctors for you, and they provide with assisting in various medical issues. Great customer service and they stay in contact with you,if you have a case manager. All in all, Im very satisfied. Wish they covered gyms memberships with my plan, but they do offer gym locations so I cant complain. They have certain plans that do cover gym memberships though. Great health insurance company.

Ive been a member for a long time and recommend CDPHP.

Ive had this insurance company for 30+ years and I cant say enough about them. Ive had three babies, along with surgeries and procedures for me and family members. Not once was coverage denied. I dont understand the negative reviews...it doesnt seem that they would treat people any differently. Their customer service is excellent. My questions and concerns have always been handled to my satisfaction. Great company!

Great health plan with strong options for employers and unique benefits for members.

Charged us nearly $5,000 for a miscarriage two months after the event. Now, we our broke and our baby is dead. Thank you so much for retraumatizing our family and refusing to consider any appeal to charges. Pregnancy is supposed to be covered. Apparently only babies who live count in their eyes.

Currently furious with this greedy company, for denying the migraine medication prescribed by my board-certified neurologist, who specializes in pain management and headaches. They prefer I try beta-blockers and other out-dated and ineffective treatments, than pay for something that would actually work. Best of all, my appeal was denied by a medical director, who specializes in family medicine, instead of migraines, or headaches, or pain, or neurology...

I may as well not have insurance. Multiple calls in to the call center and still cannot get copies of my cards sent to me. Not only that, but the customer service rep sounds like an automaton. Clearly reading from a script and not the least bit helpful. I’m disgusted that this is what I’m paying a ridiculous amount of money for each month, only to find that only 1 of the meds I take are actually covered under the joke of a plan. I had CDPHP growing up and it was much better! I’m 46 now. Awful.

Right now i will mark the service as a 2 but in the past I have to say CDPHP has been a decent insurance company to me and my family. Over all, the process of having to fill prescriptions that are NOT generic or low cost is a very very painful process. And it feels like CDPHP customer service or should I say service to a patient is not as customer orientated as it used to be. Does CDPHP really have the patients best intentions at the forefront of their business plan?

Dont use this insurance its basically a scam. I might has well have not had insurance for the past year.

I was on a medication that made me sick and deeply depressed and on top of that did not help the thing I was taking it for.. I found something that worked great..it made me healthy, no more pains all over, and most of all the depression completely disappeared...buuuuuut CDPHP refuses to cover it and insists I go back on the drug that makes me want to die. Thanks for caring CDPHP.

I had their insurance for 2 years. Its bad and theyre a pain to deal with. Anytime I ever had to call them for anything they failed miserably. Do not waste your money on this trash company.

Im surprised to see all the one stars. Their phone customer service is top notch, they send out payments and EOBs in a timely manner, and just about every hospital takes them. And in more than ten years, theyve yet to screw up our paperwork.

I dont know why I see 1 star when I google CDPHP, because they are one of the best Health Insurance. They answer the phone, they take their time, they explain everything ok. Their coverage is average. There must be something wrong with Google?

Might as well not have Insurance.Paid 230 dollars for a doctors visit when doctors visits should be technically free. They paid only 90 dollars. I pay 410 a month. Ingrates.

Please read your contract. I recently filed a complaint against CDPHP in regards to letter I received from a lawyers office in TN. It turns out they released medical and personal information to a law firm without my consent. After several hours on the phone and poor customer service representative information and multiple complaints I was referred back to the contract that states “CDPHN has the right to release or obtain information it believes is necessary to administer this coordination of benefits provision. CDPHN will not notify you or obtain your consent before releasing or obtaining information. Neither the plan or CDPHN will be legally responsible to you or anyone else for releasing or obtaining this information.” Shame on me for not finding the fine print hidden in my contract. I understand this as CDPHP/CDPHN is able to release my information to anyone without my consent and is not liable for how this information is used. With all the HIPAA laws and regulations I don’t understand how they can even do this. I just don’t feel it’s right that they can contract or sell my information to a lawyers office to possibly pursue a lawsuit in order to be reimbursed for toddler who had a bump/ fall and the parents brought them to be evaluated as a concern for their wellbeing. Please read your contract. As a health care provider they don’t even take the time to notify the insured when they release personal and medical information to 3rd parties.

Had CDPHP for years, switched to MVP last year for personal reasons, and switched back to CDPHP as soon as I could. CDPHP has phenomenal customer service and is willing to work with you every step of the way, sometimes even making exceptions to your plan in order to get you the best care possible.

CDPHP = scammers. If you come down with any serious health issues and need surgery, you have the surgery because you must, theyll tell you that youre covered, youll feel confident and secure and go on with your life. Then the fun starts. Approximately 11 months later youll get a bill for the full cost of the surgery. When you call CDPHP to inquire about this absurdity, they tell you some story about how they sent several letters over a 6 month period alerting you of a denial and that you missed the 180 window to file an appeal and that, sorry, theres nothing we can do. I never got 1 letter about this from them! They found a loophole in NYS law which does not require them to get written or verbal confirmation that you have been denied. Its a scam! Find a different provider or you may be their next victim.For the record; My condition was completely debilitating and they reversed the approval because some suit determined that my surgery was cosmetic. I have a massive scar, x-rays, and MRIs that prove otherwise but I never got the chance to appeal because they manipulated the legal system. Is that who you want to depend on?

This is the worst Health Insurance you could ever pay for!! We have paid for this CDPHP Health Insurance for over 30 years and now that we need them they wont cover my daughters illness. They waste your time by telling you that you can appeal their decision but it is a complete waste of time. CDPHP will never let you win! They refer you to incompetent specialists....we were referred to Doctors who have only been practicing for 6 months. Beware you never realize how bad CDPHP is until you need insurance.

Telephone customer service has reached a new low. Surly and rude. Deny that they incorrectly coded date information on a claim, when I have the information right in front of me. Bureaucratic jackasses. The system is broken.
