Dr. Svoboda is amazing. Ive been able to get off all but 2 of my medications since I started seeing her. Best neurologist Ive ever had!

Staff is quite rude. Do not recommend.

I have been to many neurologists and contrary to the other reviews, I have had amazing care from Dr. Svoboda and her staff. I feel comfortable talking to her about whats going on and she listens and is compassionate and affirming. I have recommended a number of people to see her. I am quite happy and have no complaints of anyone in her office.

I am very thankful for Dr. Svoboda. The first time I met with her she made me feel like she and I were in this together. That means everything in the world to me.

She was amazing going above and beyond to make sure that my health is taken care of.

The Dr Svoboda who gave me toxin injections today was not the doctor my husband and I met with in December 2017. At that appointment she said she understood the craniofacial dystonia Ive been experiencing for years, she agreed shed use 1000 units of Dysport every ten weeks just as my previous neurologist did. She reviewed the chart notes and diagram of where Id been getting injections for the past four years and said she could figure it out from the notes and diagram and I could show her where the spasms occur. Today she came in the room, asked me to show her where I was experiencing pain and she proceeded to tell me why she wouldnt injection toxin in the muscles around the side of my head, including the temporalis attachments that are standard injection sites for migraine-like headaches. She also wouldnt do any on the back of my head, the base of my skull or upper neck because she remembered another doctor injected those areas in late November. I told her he didnt inject those areas but focused on the shoulder muscles. It didnt matter what I said because she stated she had 22 years of experience and shed do it her way or shed give me a referral to OHSU or any other doctor I wanted and did I want her to proceed or not. I have never been treated so rudely or so dismissively. I was so desperate for some little relief from these excruciating muscle spasms that I said to go ahead. She didnt treat any of the headache points past the temporal bone, above the ears or above my neck. The entire back of my head, the occipital nerve (I have occipital neuralgia and treating it really helps), and the temporalis muscle attachments were not treated. She also wouldnt inject Dysport around my right ear where I have geniculate neuralgia (think ice pick stabbing in ear and the entire ear screaming in pain when my hair or cool air blowing across it causes agonizing pain) even though she agreed to treat it when we met in December. I kept trying to remind her of what wed talked about in December and she told me to stop talking. She made it clear that she would do it her way and the caring, understanding doctor I met in December was not in the room.As she was leaving, she said if I wanted her to do toxin injections again, I could schedule an appointment for 90 days as I was leaving. I tried to remind her that shed agreed to do them every ten weeks and my insurance would approve it with prior authorization. Theyve done it for years and thats the frequency of treatment she said shed do when we met in December. I got the impression that no effort will be made to get prior authorization by this doctor or her staff. Dr Svoboda showed zero compassion for me or the agonising pain I experience with craniofacial dystonia. Once her mind was made up, there was no moving her. It doesnt matter that she was wrong about the shoulder areas that were injected in late November. She was sure it was the neck, base of skull and back of head and she would not hear anything I said as I tried to correct the misunderstanding. With dystonia, the muscles that are left untreated go haywire and seize up into painful spasms when other affected muscles are treated. By the end of the week Im going to be in agony as the top of my neck, base of my skull and the temporalis muscle attachments seize up and Im going to just have to hang on and hope I find a caring doctor who understands dystonia and the muscles of the face and skull before its time for the next toxin injections. It wont be this doctor because she is neither caring or competent to treat my disease.

She doesnt listen and doesnt seem to be doing anything as my headache has increased to numbness, tingling, severe muscle spasms, vertigo and blurred vision over the 3 years I have been seeing her. She had spinal fluid drained which gave me back my vision and stopped the vertigo for two days. From the MRI my other doctor ordered I can diagnose several treatable conditions but she gave me water pills and said come back in 3 months. ARGH!! Im blind, I cant look at my owns feet without wanting to fall over. I need treatment NOW! If it is not Cervical Vertico, could it be Barre-Lieou? The symptoms of both fit. Luckily my Pain Dr is tired of waiting too and has referred me to another Neurologist but I cant get in until April which is a month sooner then Svoboda will see me!

Awful please read other reviews my experience with this doc and staff was awful i even allowed her the power to drive me to suicidal ideation as in other reviews my dignity patients right no informed consent destoyed all my trust in docs that i have been working on for 11yrs my reserch has show curiosity from her days in kansas and minnisota food for thought she has destoyed me but i am enrolling in hospice because my dying dream was destoyed by her sooo i know karma will get her and with that done its time to go home to heaven now that i cant make the trip to boyhood home
