Pleasant surroundings in the check in and waiting area. As a first time patient, the initial info was made quick and easy with a tablet. I had just sat down in the waiting room and was immediately called and ushered to the exam room. Thorough history taken by a pleasant young lady and a mere 3 minute wait for the nurse practitioner to arrive. Veronica was thorough, friendly and explained the process of my procedure effectively. Checkout was efficient and I was in and out in under an hour for an afternoon appointment. I was pleasantly surprised!!! I would highly recommend this office.

Always a pleasure going there and talking with Felicia Rogers! Very thorough appointment and they’re always right on top of scheduling the proper procedures at the right time. Staff is very very friendly and helpful.

First visit was today for a medical issue I’m very concerned about. I was very impressed. I was able to ‘check in’ online which saved me a lot of time. I was greeted when I arrived and sent to the waiting area. I only waited about five minutes before I was brought to the examination room. I was asked medical questions by ‘Amanda’ for my chart … she was very nice. I was seen by Arie Fisher, a P.A. with the group. He was so through and I felt in good hands. I’m a very anxious patient but everyone I interacted with was so patient with me. My tests are scheduled and I feel relieved that they are being done in a very timely manner. This is my sister’s group and she recommended them to me.

I was very pleased with my recent routine visit. They were very efficient. I was able to checkin online ahead of my appointment and complete all the paperwork. My appointment from start to finish was under 30 minutes. Stephanie Racz, the PA I met with, was warm and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and made practical recommendations. I would definitely recommend this practice to others.

I switched from a different practice that I was not happy with and not getting good care. So glad I did! Dr Gianotti is awesome. I really trust him and feel comfortable with his expertise. Everyone from reception to the nurses in the infusion room are so pleasant and helpful.

From the check in, to the med assistant, to the PA, all of the staff were friendly, warm and professional. My PA spent time asking and answering questions. It was easy to tell that I was the patient she was concentrating on at the time.

As an individual with anxiety about going under sedation for procedures, the nurses and staff answered any and all questions that I had. They could tell that I was a little nervous and were reassuring and comforting. Any concerns I had were addressed throughly by staff. The Doctors and Nurses are very knowledgeable and I would trust them with another procedure 100%

Almost perfect …. Staff was efficient, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Medical staff is top notch. All listen well, are open to any type of questions. And, set me at ease. Small minus goes to the facility at 1375 Washington Avenue which has an enigmatic traffic/work flow. Confusing. Staff does very well helping the patients navigate the facility … and the work-flow/procedures. Good practice!

I saw Veronica, the NP for my last 2 appointments. She was understanding and really listened to me. She ordered a medication for me to take, and told me that insurance coverage was better than it used to be, as a couple of years ago, I had the same GI problems, and my copay was over $200. She told me to let her know if I had any problems and it cost too much. My copay was worse..almost 500 bucks!! I called her and she said she would get me samples. She called the drug company and got me the medication within a few days. She also called me herself when i had questions about it . Im looking forward to my follow up appointment with her! I would highly recommend her. The staff is efficient as well, and there was very little wait time.

I have been coming here for several years. They are the best. The only draw back is the length of time to schedule an appointment.

Very personable, yet professional, staff! Everyone explained everything to me in clear and understandable language, rather than sticking strictly to medical terms that most people would not understand. Conversations with staff and service providers were direct and to the point, yet warm and friendly. Only complaint that I would have concerns trying initially to schedule an appointment. On-line request was never responded to and it took several attempts to reach schedulers by phone. Otherwise, my experiences so far are very good.

Stephanie Racz was wonderful! She was patient and kind; made me feel like she really cared. She listened to me. Answered my questions. Suggested some things. Told me the truth. And, well, she secured my trust.

I love the doctors here. That alone would get 5 stars. What I hate is you cant get anyone on the phone, you have to do everything through the patient portal on website.

I called for an appointment to assess upper GI pain. I was able to get an appointment quickly because of a cancellation. Nurse practitioner Striffler was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the next steps that need to be taken. I had signed in online so I went right to the waiting area. I was taken to a room within 5 minutes of my appointment time. My provider came in right in after my vitals were taken. The provider spent time with me and answered any of my questions. I did not feel rushed or ignored. A very pleasant experience.

Everyone was so sweet from the woman who took my temperature,the front desk woman, the woman who took my copay and the woman who took my vitals ! Truly all wonderful and caring! I saw Jenny Brown who was very sweet and knowledgeable!!! The woman who scheduled my procedure was so sweet and efficient! Truly everyone made a nerve wracking visit easy!

Being young and having stomach issues can really be a challenge. Especially when it comes to truly being heard about your concerns. I saw Karen Patnode recently and she made me feel heard for the first time in 32 years. She was thorough in her questioning and with testing. She assured me she wouldn’t stop until she has found the issue. Give this place 20/10 stars!

This office is one of the best run, administratively speaking, of any other office I go too. They are so efficient and the ability to check in online saves time. The providers are just as efficient and thorough. I’m so glad I was referred to this practice!

This was a routine follow up to a hospital admission I had to control a bleed following an endoscopy and colonoscopy. The protocol for this visit was efficient and quick. I only had to wait about 5 minutes until I was called. The tech was efficient and friendly. I was seen a few minutes later by Abigail Geen, PA. She was very cordial and caring, answered all my questions clearly and succinctly. I can also only say the very best about Dr. Rena Patel, who performed the in hospital procedures.

Today I called Albany Gastroenterology to try to get an appt because I was having very bad diaharrea and the normal medication wasnt helping. The person scheduling was accommodating and gave me 3:30 pm appt. Once I got there and checked in at the front desk I sat in the waiting room- only waited for 5 minutes. Then the Nurse brought me to the Examination room. She was wonderful- took my vitals and we talked about my symptoms. She was attentive and compassionate. Then in less than 5 minutes Danielle Napieralski , PA came in. She was personable and pleasant and treated me like a human being. We talked for about 15-20 minutes. I asked questions and she answered them. We discussed what treatment was appropriate . This visit was a 10 plus because I was treated with respect. I have had many new health issues begin in the past 3 years - since I returned from Belize - where I lived from 2005- 2018.

The nurse that came in put all the wrong information and (the next visit) the new nurse was so sweet and confused about all the wrong information! The head nurse Dr.Gilday’s nurse Mary is the sweetest, understanding person who really cares! She listens! Dr. Gilday is excellent ,compassionate and makes you very comfortable. It is the switch board people who are rude. I have experienced the worst,rudest, and just don’t care. I spoke with the switchboard head and she didn’t listen and was rude. I spoke with head nurse unfortunately and she was very rude! One actually said,”If it was a TRUE EMERGENCY! They never called back!!!

Staff is organized and always respectful. I have never waited in reception room more than ten minutes to see a doctor. All three doctors that I have seen, either in the hospital or in the office have taken time to answer questions and address your concerns. The PA Karen is the best!

Recommendation to retrain staff. Poor customer service experience. After calling twice to schedule a new patient appointment and receiving a call back three days later, I got a call from a receptionist, who immediately asked me my DOB and name. When I told her I was looking to schedule a new patient visit, she asked if I had every seen a Gastroenterologist in the past, I told her yes many years ago and in a different state and she told me they would need those records before they could see me? The receptionist never asked what would be my reason for seeing someone within their practice, since this is a new and separate issue from before. When I attempted to explain that, she spoke over me and said she still needed my records from 7 plus years ago/ different issue/ different state. Too bad, they wont be receiving my business.

I dont want to give a bad review, but I have no choice right now. I have made many, many attempts to make an appointment and it has been very unsuccessful. So, despite being a former employee, I have to say that the staff has been very, very unhelpful. I called to make an appointment a little over a month ago because I am having some issues. I got the scheduling department after being on hold for 15-20 minutes and was not given a name to whom I spoke to. Instead I was put back on hold and transferred to the billing department?! I cant recall the billers name, but she looked into my account and saw that I used to work there, and put me on a long hold. When she came back to the line she said that my account was locked and someone would call me back. Well, I gave it about a week and a half, and nobody ever called me back. I have never had an issue before after working there, so why is it an issue now?! I didnt leave on horrible terms, it just didnt work out in the end. Anyway, I recently requested an appointment via online because my issues are not any better and guess what, no call back! I am sure this review will be deleted since I am a former employee. I would go else where, but the doctors are terrific here! I had no issues or complaints about working here, I thought it was a really great job and I know I did really well at it, again it just didnt work out and I moved on. So, former employee or not, I shouldnt be stopped from being seen and getting the care that I need just because my account is locked, and my employment didnt work out in the end! Thank you.

Dr. Fisher and Dr. Buhac have been complete lifesavers. I been going to them for about 7 years now and probably would be dead by now if it werent for them. First with my gerd that was pretty much eating my esophagus and throat away, and then with my diverticulitis. If it werent for them I would totally not be here today. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give Albany Gastro a 100 and I highly recommend anyone with stomach issues to go there.

I am currently a patient of Dr. Gerson. He has been attentive to my needs and listens to my concerns. He also performed and endoscopy on me. Very smooth procedure with no discomfort. He is a realistic doctor and will give you real answers. So far I have not had any issues and he is very respectful to me.

I love my GI (Dr Gianotti) and I love Felicia Rogers NP!!!! The ladies (& gentlemen) in the Infusion room are excellent!!! The administrative staff are amazing!!! If you’re thinking about making an appointment do not hesitate!!! This is the BEST place for your care❤️❤️

My nurse practitioner, Veronica, was fabulous. She explained everything about my tests and results so I had no problem understanding them. Made me feel comfortable about asking questions. I have been very fortunate to have been seen by Dr. Gilday and Veronica.

Always happy to make the trip to this group, even if it is over an hour away!!! Never dread the appointment or procedure. Everyone from start to finish is so pleasant, informative and helpful. Was sad to find that Dr. Samuels had retired, but his replacement Dr. Matthew Ben and assistant was a joy to meet with. Loved their sense of humour and kindness. Wouldnt go anywhere else, unless I moved out of state!!!

This office is extremely unresponsive. Trying to reach Dr Paleo or his nurse is virtually impossible and you have to leave messages and wait for hours or days. I was told that all test results would be uploaded to a portal, but I have never been able to retrieve any results. I have been going for 3 months trying to resolve a medical issue with them and have no diagnosis or action plan. I would not recommend this doctor or office.

Well I haven’t actually gotten to make the appointment yet. But so far I had the worst customer service I’ve ever had. I was told that if I’ve already been to more than one gastroenterologist in my life, I can’t make an appointment with them. The woman speaking to me did everything she could to convince me not to make an appointment. I already faxed them my previous gastroenterologists information but they say they don’t have anything and give me a new number to fax. I am absolutely appalled. I have esophagitis and gastritis and continuing issues. I had to freak out to get her to even give me the new fax number.

I have been a patient at Albany Gastroenterology since 1994 when I had my first colonoscopy, around age 50, (by Dr. Nina Sax/superb doctor and my hero)! After several procedures since then (at least 5), I have always received excellent care, respect and competence! This week I had a colonoscopy scheduled for last Monday! I followed all the directions for the prep; however, for the first time, I had to cancel my procedure because the prep did not happen in time. Everyone at AG was so gracious and understanding and patient with my situation and my concerns! Today I met with PA Danielle who listened to my story, answered my questions, eased my anxiety and devised a new plan for a second scheduled procedure in mid-May. My gratitude 🙏 to Danielle, Rebecca (Direct Access Nurse), and all the staff who assisted me today... you are all amazing, caring and proficient in your work at AG. I look forward to meeting Dr. Gianotti! Thank you!

If you as a Patient do your Check In the day before your appointment it makes life easy. You show up to your appointment and basically just walk in. Very efficient system. In my opinion you will not find a better Physician than Doctor Samuels. I would rate this man a genius in his field. The treatment he gave me was amazing. Dr. Samuels is the Man if you ask me.
