My Mom was at Atria Shaker and Atria Crossgates for almost 2 years and she was treated with so much love from both places and everyone was very helpful to her and my self all the time. Kristyn the director at both places was very helpful knowing that my mom needed more than just assisted living she needed memory care as well and was able to help get her into Atria Shaker. JJ the memory care director was so great in helping transition my mom to another new place for her and it was very hard to see her in her new state of mind but everyone took very good care of her when i could not be there with her everyday like i was used to before covid. Atria is a great place and thank everyone for taking great care of my mom while she was there. She is now in a nursing home.

My mother lived at Shaker when COVID hit the US. Atria was very impressive in their response to the pandemic. The executive director shared regular updates via e-mail and sometimes with a personal phone call to let us know what was happening in the community. It was re-assuring and helped keep me at ease during a very difficult time.

My Mom has been a resident at Atria Shaker since November 2019. It has been a positive experience from the beginning. The staff was wonderful - helpful, friendly, professional. Its a beautiful building, very clean, lovely dining room, social areas, and easy to get around. There are numerous activities every day - something for everyone. And it gave us a sense of peace to know that there were staff checking up on her throughout the day - while also giving her privacy and dignity. Community meals in the dining room provided important socialization, and were varied and healthy.Since early March when the pandemic hit New York Atria Shaker went into quarantine immediately. We felt reassured and secure, knowing that she was in a safe place where they were following CDC guidelines, protocol, and taking every precaution. The executive director, Jennifer Zacharek was incredible; sending out regular emails/newsletters to let us know exactly what was going on - and why. This kind of transparency was greatly appreciated. She and the staff brought three meals each day to the residents in their rooms - delivered along with friendly conversation. Those small and meaningful touches mean a lot.Our Mom feels very safe and cared for - and this gives us great comfort. (and they have an app which gives daily updates, too)I would recommend Atria Shaker for anyone looking for an assistive living facility thats stimulating, supportive, and friendly.

Thank you to Jennifer Zacharek and her team at the Atria Shaker! These are trying times for all of us but we just have to “ hang in there”. They have supported the residents & prevented Covid from entering the building! They should be commended for their diligence. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to keep the residents of Atria Shaker safe & healthy during this pandemic! Thank you!

My family is very grateful to the Atria staff. The team here from the Executive Director down has positively impacted our mothers life beyond anything we could have imagined in the past 6 months. They even got her to point in her life to where she traveled on a plane by herself to see family. I wouldnt have fathomed this 6 months ago. My Mom has such a better quality of life because of the team at the Atria. I highly recommend the Atria if you are looking to provide a loved one with a better quality of life due to what ever it is they ha e faced or a facing. I would like to specifically recognize Lori Horn, Christine Byrnes, Jennifer Zacharek, and Rachel Mandel!

I liked it so much I would choose it for myself, if I could stay in the Albany area. Ive very sick and need assisted living, but I have to move to where my family is, and they live out of the area.I liked that I was there around 4pm, and lots of people were hanging out in the lobby. They had sing-alongs, bible studies, and a shuffleboard court in the back. I liked a lot of the other activities they offered tooTheyll let you keep a cat, because I have one. The rooms are small, but I have seen smaller on the Assisted Living Circut. Id live here, because it seemed like a happy atmosphere, with the kind of activities I would like.

As next of kin, HCP and POA, I am very involved in my Aunts care. I am so glad that I chose Atria Shaker and their Life Guidance unit. All of her needs, are met by Karen and her professional and caring staff. My family and I are so thankful for the kindness and effective care given by Angela on the day shift. We call her Aunts Angel, and indeed she fills that role. People with dementia and Alz. present unique challenges and she always rises to the occasion.
