Beautiful campground. Awesome customer service. This was our first time driving an RV and staying at a campground. We loved it so much that we stayed in a KOA in San Antonio Texas to rest for one night on our way back to Florida. We were equally satisfied. Thank you for making our first RV road trip a memorable one. The Ortiz Family

Smaller koa but close to white sands national park. Close to shopping and restaurants. Does have a pool, play area for kids. Also have sleds that you can use for white sands. Staff is very friendly and so polite. There was a grill, nice stone picnic table and swing at the spot we have. Really amazing prickly pear cactus at the front of the building as well as leading into the campground. Also nice large sign telling you where to turn off the main road. Nice mountain views as well.

My family stayed here with our 40’ bus; it was exquisite and we enjoyed it very much. The facilities were wonderful and all amenities are offered. We will be returning to stay with our mini trailer in the future! But words are nothing here are some of the images I took :-))Also, we know it may be “cheaper” for wood and ‘mellows, however the service and facilities were well worth it to buy it in house. Don’t be afraid to spend a little money and support your local businesses!

We loved our stay at a cabin here! The bed was comfortable, and our room stayed cool. It was a great location near restaurants, and it was nice to see the mountains right when stepping outside. The grounds are nicely manicured and you can borrow sleds for free ! It was such a great time.

Love this KOA! The owners were efficient and wonderful! I loved our tent site. It had just rained but the rain had all drained away and we didn’t get soaked. The table is substantial, the game room was fun, the showers were spotless, and the free coffee in the morning is a perfect cherry on top of our “sundae” experience! I will definitely return!

A good little KOA. Well maintained. Arrived in the dark. The road through the park is extremely dark with no lights. I needed my wife to walk me through to ensure I didnt hit anything with my small trailer. I couldnt imagine pulling a large trailer through there. Please install some small path lights around the corners. Great gift shop and rec room.

Weve just started the RV life and KOAs have made this very easy. The kids park is out dated, but that means its way more fun. Kids had a blast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Youre likely staying here because of the White Sands, and definitely check in first, as they have free sleds. The park makes you buy them, which they should just rent out...regardless, theyre free if youre staying here. The camp store is a little light on the food and drinks, but they have the basics which was good enough. Plenty of places to stock up nearby of you needed anything else anyway.

I think KOAs have become one of our favorite RV campgrounds to stay the night whenever we commence to one of our road trips. This time around, we hit up the White Sands KOA in Alamogordo, New Mexico which was a pleasant RV campground considering its location and size. The staff is super pleasant and friendly providing necessary information needed to get around the establishment along with a pamphlet of the area outside campground. The drive thru has both 30/50 amp power for the RV along with full hook-up to include water and cable, which is a huge plus. I would come back again.

Not good for car campers. Sleeping in the car for two weeks without issue, stayed at a lot of KOAs with great sites so trusted this to be great as well… as a “tent” site, you have to park your car in the road- which means we had to sleep in the road. Campground is on the back road right in town so it was loud, guests seemed questionable and being right in town we didn’t feel safe enough to sleep with the windows down.Wouldn’t let us upgrade to RV spot.Bathrooms were hot, but well maintained. Staff was friendly… I just wish we could have slept somewhere other than the road when paying for a spot. Should have just found a Walmart parking lot at this rate.

Super clean KOA but extremely small and cramped spaces with loud trains all night and hoodlums drag racing their cars loudly on the streets surrounding this campground. It is in the middle of town, very odd place for a campground in general and making it much less desirable. Separately, we couldnt find a single restaurant in town open on a Monday that was decent. Would have given less stars if the property werent so well maintained.

Excellent KOA! Great service. We’ve stayed in KOAs all over the western US, and while we’ve had a good experience in all, this one (Alamogordo) is about the best.Spacious 30 amp pull-through, water, electric, sewer and cable, a patio with furniture, grill, fire pit and well-groomed grounds all contributed to a very positive experience.

Good people owning and running the place. Early checkin was available and granted. Easy to get into pull throughs with decent space between sites. Nice pool, laundry (takes quarters but not credit card) and a camp souvenir store. Significant lack of WiFi connection. Inside the building in their lounge area signal was adequate. In the RV or on the patio adjacent to our site, signal was non-existent. Dog park nice and well kept, with two shade trees to break up the intense sun (it is June, after all). Grass doesnt exist here so everything is gravel or paved. Dog park has wood chips instead which was a welcome relief to our dogs paws. Train noise all hours (if that bothers you) and airplane noise also from local air force base. Of course, it was the week for their night flying training. But not a problem for us since we LOVE the sound of freedom overhead!

Did not have the opportunity to stay , just pulled in for some propane. However, looking around the park was well maintained and quiet. The inside of the clubhouse was clean, bright and the staff was friendly.Propane: the main tank is located to the left of the club house ( as you are doubling into the park ) I pulled up expecting to hit a call button or see the on duty manager but to my surprise I was met at the tank by Mark.Mark was awesome ! He got he propane filled quickly and we had a very pleasant conversation. During that talk I told him that this was our first coach and that we were staying at the local military base and had to disconnect and drive the 15 minuets into town to get the tank re-filled.Mark informed me about the extended stay adapter , and where and how it’s installed. Which allows you to use portable propane tanks and eliminates the need to disconnect and drive the motorcoach to another location.Overall , although short , this experience was great !! And they defiantly earned a repeat customer

The facilities and staff were very nice. However, New Mexico is under an indoor mask mandate, and it is not being enforced at all at this campsite. I felt very unsafe doing laundry because no one was wearing masks. I mentioned this to management, who responded that some people have medical issues so they just dont ask anyone to wear a mask. I felt safe to make a stop here because of the policies that were stated, following doctors guidance - the doors everywhere here say masks are required, but its just not enforced at all. Even management does not always wear a mask properly. If they are not following state regulations, they should let travelers know so that we can make an informed decision before making decisions on where to stay. We’ve been full timing all year and have felt safe at every site except this one.

Super friendly, very helpful, we came in around 6am (paid for the night prior). We called ahead to let the camp know that we were running later than expected, the camp offered to keep our site reserved for another night just in case we needed to stay for two. We were glad they did! Upon arrival we were greeted at our site by management who helped get us settled stating you guys must be exhausted, we were. It was an absolutely beautiful site full patio, grill, swing and fire pit. Very reasonably priced at $60. Did I mention that the manager actually only charged us for one night? Yes, so we came in at 6am the morning of the night we had prepaid for and stayed all through the night, to which the KOA only charged us for one nights stay! Wonderful site, friendly staff and great neighbors (we actually made friends on our stay). Beautiful, perfect location to stay if visiting White Sands, would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for two nights over christmas on a family trip out west in our class c 26 foot RV. We normally stay in state or federal campgrounds. However, this location worked for us. The value here is amazing. We got a spot with a grill and deck for very inexpensive price. We did our laundry here and two complete loads cost around $6 total. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. It was over christmas so they set out luminaries all around the park with was beautiful. They also had activities for the kids. It is in an industrial area, but the view out your window is of the mountains. White Sands is 20 minutes away and all the shopping you need is just a short drive. We would stay here again for sure.

This KOA campground in Alamogordo is a gem. My husband stopped there on a whim and were so delighted with the park. All the sites had a wood, brick or plant walls to ensure campsite privacy. Some campsites had barbecues, fire pits, raised paved or wooden decks with outdoor furniture. The grounds were clean and the facilities were excellent. Nice playground for the kiddos, pool was closed - probably because of Covid. Staff was excellent, very friendly and efficient. We didnt eat any food there, brought our own.
