Im 53 and Dr. Shah is by far the most gentle dentist Ive ever met. His nurse Lizeth held my hand while I received the Novocaine.Im just amazed how quick, efficient and pain free the whole extraction went.I would recommend this dentist 💯!!Chris

Everyone in this place are very kind . They answered all my questions and concerns. It didn’t take me more than 2 minutes to see the orthodontist, and get my first visit treatment done . Today was a day I almost rescheduled because I was scared of getting my cavity filled cuz In the past it always hurt no matter where I went. Well Today Dr. Patel took his time to explain what he was going to do to try and ease my fear.. today was the first time in 45 yrs that it did not hurt. When I fist started going it was a dentist that cared now me and family are trying to find a new dentist office they never return my calls about my implants to tell me if my insurance will pay for it and it’s all about hurrying up getting you in and out not taking the time to care about the patients me and my daughter and grandkids goes there and it’s always the same each time we go so we’re looking for a new dental home even if we have to travel to Chicago for good service

This was a great experience! They took me back within 10 minutes of my appt time. The techs were very nice and explained everything. I had gone in for a bad tooth and the dentist was able to pull it. He was super nice and did a great job. He explained it all in detail from the procedure to the after care. I would highly recommend this dental office!

Service was great. First timers here, no issues. They listened to my kids needs. Both boys told me Dr was very attentive and smooth while working.

1st girl that checked us in didnt mention anything about us having issues with insurance. Second Girl at the front desk that was helping us went above and beyond to help us with our insurance Great Customer service skills BEST EVER she has amazing personality I wish I remembered her name, however wait time was horrible our appointment time was at 930 we didnt even know we had insurance issues till after 10 so we had to wait till almost 11 to be seeing by the Dr for simple check up. Very frustrating. Dr was very nice and polite and so was the girl that was working with him.

If you want to leave worse than you came in. Do not come here. This place is a joke, they have you checked in supposedly and then after 45 min of waiting they ask me if I have updated my insurance? That was the whole idea of me making an appointment. When I came in the place smelled horrible the rug that they have is really dirty and I’m guessing that is why it smells. My wife had came before for an appointment with my kids and she had seen mice DROPPINGS. We stopped coming here but I was in the area and had a bad toothache

I went for a cleaning last week. The technician took all of 5 minutes to polish my teeth. She didnt scrape them or floss them. Feels like I didnt even get a cleaning. I had to go back a couple days ago to get 2 cavities filled. I like the doctor, though my filling is sharp. I also have pain in my upper tooth and all he told me to do is floss to see if it improves! Its pretty constant pain and feels worse when I eat. Pretty disappointed, I will be getting a second opinion.

They tell me over the phone lm good to go after entering all my Insurance l get there wait to be seen and they ask to see my info . Again and tell me my insurance is showing non active . This is twice it had happened with your office. I’m done with Familia Dental and do will my entire family . Now l need to contact my insurance and see what’s the problem once again as last time there wasn’t a problem! They should be checking this out before my appointment not me if anything!

Please do yourselves a favor and avoid this place. I know this will be a long read but please do yourself a solid and just read this!!! They are a dental mill and are taking advantage of Medicaid patients to get them in and out just to take the money during billing. Trust me, I know how hard it is to find a dentist who takes Medicaid in our area!!! They are taking advantage of people who can’t afford good dental care and are hoping that their patients are too dumb to realize that this is not good dental care. They are preying on people who don’t know the difference between a good and bad dentist office. And YES, I have considered reporting them for medical fraud, but I didn’t have a strong enough case. I still don’t know what was in the x-rays and what they billed my insurance.A lady came in to take x-rays, which hurt very badly because she did not position the mouthpiece correctly and it was digging into my gums. After she took our X-rays, she started the cleaning process, which she did not do correctly. She did the teeth brushing with that pink toothpaste stuff that kinda tasted like bubblegum or something and she only put it on my front teeth, neglecting the molars. This is the odd part. SHE DIDNT USE WATER FOR THE CLEANING!!! At one point she was pushing the spinning brush against my teeth so hard, I felt the friction heat my teeth and it really hurt. I am positive that she was a dental assistant and not a dental hygienist because she failed to do the mouth cleaning correctly, which if this is in fact true, this is considered to be illegal and frowned upon. He was going very aggressively I was getting scared he was going to cut my gums and tongue. That took around (and I am not joking) 50 seconds from the time I got in the chair and out of it. As I was getting out of the chair some other guy who was assisting pushes a brush covered in pink stuff in my mouth without telling me beforehand, and so I jerked back out of panic, his hand came out of nowhere and he was brushing this paste all over my teeth very fast and in lazy motions and it got all around my mouth, he did this while I was getting up.After my sister went, the ‘dentist’ never spoke to us again, he just got up and went over to the reception desk and took off his gloves and started typing something, but pause real fast, HE NEVER WASHED HIS HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING THE KEYBOARD!!! Just then the lady who took the X-rays comes up behind him and says, “Did you want to see their X-Rays?” and he says, “No” and she cut in and goes, “Well, I really think you should.” and he goes, “ No they’re done”, and she looks a little uncomfortable and goes, “Are you sure?” and he dismissively and rudely says to her, “I’m sure”. So, you mean to tell me that this guy NEVER LOOKED AT OUR X-RAYS????This is my honest experience. My older brother went here years ago for a filling and on the way home, my mother went over a pothole and it fell out. We all laughed about it at the time and just avoided this place. I only ended up here out of desperation because the Blue Cross website lists places that no longer take Medicaid. This was my only option. Don’t be like me, just make the drive out to a legitimate place and let the reviews speak for themselves.

Unreal. First off, the waiting area is cramped and while theres some distancing taking place, the wait is absurd. I was on time and still had to wait 15 minutes for someone to call me when I first visited them.The second visit was extremely brief because THEY REFUSED TO ASSIST ME. They couldnt pull up my insurance, even though I had ID and showed them my portal showing it was active. Then one of their doctors just basically said, Go back to your old doctor. If I were able to, do you think Id be here?Dont go here. Find someone else.

All the staff are very nice caring and professional! From the front desk to the M.D. everyone is passionate about their job and the comfort of your visit. Personally, I dont have the best dental insurance right now with everything going on with my tooth pain am just happy to be out of pain now.

Fantastic experience with Dr.Shah so far from the facility being clean and sanitized properly during these challenging times to even the teeth drilling, Dr.Shah is well rounded and professional and his staff adds to the experience. I have never felt so good at a dental office. He was communicative, provided guidance for future care and laid out an in-depth treatment plan.Lets face it, no one likes going to the dentist, but this is as close to enjoyable as a dental visit can be.

I visited Familia Dental for teeth cleaning and it was a great experience. Dr.Shah is very professional and easy to consult about oral health and takes good care of you. They maintain good Covid-19 prevention measure and social distancing.

They don’t really have social distancing taking place. They have the waiting area with chairs that have not been distanced. Yes they require people to wear a mask, but they should also have limited seats in the waiting area. Or do like the Familia Dental in Elgin-Make people wait in their cars until you are called or texted to come back so that the waiting area doesn’t have too many people. It could also stand to use a good wipe down. I went to the back to sit in the chair l, and the windows looked dusty at the bottom; I am allergic to dust and dust mites, so not good. The dentist saw me for tooth pain and he was pretty good. No real complaints there and it was a quick visit; I was only with the dentist 10-15 minutes tops. Overall, not horrible, but with the pandemic still raging on, they need to take better steps to socially distance and limit the number of people in the waiting room

The service in the office is always nice but trying to use technology to set an appointment online for their Addison office nobody ever gets back to you so you have to call anyway. Then when you call youre on hold forever and get transferred everywhere but to where you need to be. I suggest you set your next appointment when you are currently at your appointment.

First time ever being at thi place,and ya know when you go to the dentist and you feel nervous and kinda queasy. From the moment I walked in to the back to the moment I walked out of the back I felt comfortable and it felt like they cared. I am so happy that I found familia Dental. Because I will go no other place any more.Its true they make you feel like family!! I give it 10 stars.

Everyone at the Addison Familia Dental is extremely friendly and professional. They provided a very thorough exam and cleaning. Dr. Shah is very caring and he offered me good tips for keeping my teeth healthy.

I’ve already had two bad experiences here. First, i had an appointment set, so I got there in time and checked in. Once I did, my name was not called for a very long time, it was until they were closing that they realized my name had got lost in the “back”. Next, I scheduled an appointment and was already on my way when I get a call saying it had to be cancelled because the dentist had “something to do”. From those experiences, I am not a fan of the service there.

My wife and we’re just there for the first time and had a really bad experience. We were supposed to get a deep cleaning and it was done in less than 2 minutes (it should take about an hour if done professionally). They didn’t even go through every tooth or checked the x-rays. These are not real dentists/hygienists. Don’t waste your time and money. We’re never going back there!

I came in for a initial appointment and they sent me in the back in a timely matter. They did everything with a good pace and explained everything to me. All my questions were answered. And they were able to do my filling for me at my appointment. My doctor is amazing

Bad experience at La Familia Dental in Addison,Today I had an appointment here in this place started good but when the receptionist Daisy mess things up! You supposed to be a customer service not mandating patients what they going to do,She been trying to confirm my insurance through telephone and has been put on hold, I talked to her and she seems to ignore me too. Well Daisy your time and my time is not equally important to you . Please do tell me if I have to go somewhere else ok. Do not tell me to re-schedule because you cannot wait for confirmation from insurance company. She states ive been on hold for 20 minutes please re-schedule some other time. Inproperly trained as a medical clinic staff,no patience on the phone, and definitely not friendly for ignoring me! I was trying to help you to do your job easier. Lacking respect. Im thinking of not coming back on this place.

My husband also saw a dentist the same day (I don’t know his name though) and he is actually helping my husband greatly with a dental plan because his teeth are so bad but my husband said he was a very nice as well. So thank you so much. All 3 of our kids have appointments here next Wednesday and honestly I am so happy I found this dental office.

My wife is deathly afraid of dentist and the staff here made her feel very comfortable the Dr. Patel explained everything he was doing step by step to really help her anxiety and then the Dr. I saw was also very very kind. They scheduled my appointment on the wrong day. Every time I’ve been to this location I’ve had to wait over 30-45 minutes to be seen. At my most recent appointment 4 employees showed up after 9:00am while the waiting room was full which is super unsafe during Covid. I will find a new dentist.

My dad had a 1pm appointment, we got here at 12:50. They are calling people that came here after us and letting them in. It’s been 30 mins and we are still waiting in the waiting room??? Like how do they run this place?

Dr. Kim in Addison, IL. Is the only Dr that I will see there. She is gentle, caring, compassionate and always makes sure you are ok or need to anything during the procedure. I’m surprised that she doesn’t have her own practice by now. She has worked there for many many years. Please see Dr Kim, you will not regret it and her work is remarkable.

It wasnt a bad experience. The dentist was super nice and the pricing was really reasonable. When scheduling I had asked if the checkups were done in private rooms and was told that they were, but they arent individual rooms. Its more like incomplete walls separating the different patients but you can still kind of see and hear whats going on around you. That was really my only issue. Besides that we were pleased. Everyone was nice and patient with my kids and the dentist was friendly and informative. We will be returning for sure.

Walking in the door to a nice warm, clean sitting area.A children’s area enclosed, a T.V. with an appropriate volume setting. The front staff is friendly, making sure all the information is correct, and updated accordingly with any insurance changes. The schedule is set to treat the clients time respectfully. When walking in to the back someone is walking with you & getting you seated and comfortable. Going over any signatures required,& procedures for the day. The doctor is extremely professional, with thorough explanations & recommendations. Her proficiency in determining what the best and most practical treatment plan deemed appropriate is explained. Never once did I feel rushed, all the staff took the necessary time to accommodate me the client.

I had an emergency and the girl at the front desk was able to get me right in. I want to thank Dr. Patel for taking me in on short notice and taking care of my situation. I supported 2 ladies with Developmental disabilities to their appointment and everyone was very patient and supportive of the ladies with the extra time it took to explain what was going on and to get x-rays completed. If I could give them ZERO stars I would. Just dont come here for braces. The staff is nice enough (sometimes) but no one seems to know what theyre doing. Constantly being told different things by different staff members. Wait time is ridiculous even with scheduled appointments. They told us there was nothing more they could do for my son with his braces and yet I still had to Ask why they werent taking the braces off. Can not wait to be done with this place.

Love this office , everyone is professional and it’s the cleanest office I’ve seen. Always feel completely comfortable in all my dental procedures and Dr.Duce is amazing she goes above and beyond and gave me a beautiful smile back !! They are very busy all the time so definitely book ahead but in the event of something urgent they usually can work with you which is great and they take you at your scheduled time which is Awsome ! This office is child friendly and even has a play area for small children to play in while you wait, both my son and I are patients here which makes things easy

Ive just walked out from Familia Dental. My 4 year old son was seen by Dr. Patel and Yolanda. My son was complaining on a toothache, but the doctor and his helper were unable to help us. I dont know why the office is called Familia, they should put there - we accept only non trouble clients!My son was stressed and was crying, at that moment the doctors assistant was trying to make X-ray. doctor didnt even check my sons teeth, he came to us and told me that I need to look for a specialist (I thought Familia Dental has specialists!!!!)It is just my experience. You never know until you try.

Very disappointed with this location. I literally waited over one hour to have my daughter checked.This is not the first time that I waited this long, but i was willing to give them a second chance because my daughter liked the location.I would not recommend this location to anyone at all. If it was possible to give them negative stars I definitely would.On top of all that they continuously try to market to you, although they cant keep up customer service.When making an appointment at a certain time you should not wait no more than 15 mins. Plus different appointments who are scheduled later are walking right in when my appointment was before everyone else.Again, I do not recommend this place.

The dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth was extremely rude and had a nasty attitude, she should not be working with the public. She lacked the bare minimal common courtesy such as hello, Thank you, how are you, didnt even offer me the opportunity to rinse my own mouth after she was done. Just very poor service and I will not be returning.

I started to work here a month ago. The staff is very nice, we got new management a week ago, she started to make a lot of changes which is understandable. The only change we did not comprehend was that we are not allowed to speak Spanish amongst ourselves or any other languages besides English. Our new manager Chonta said that it states in our company policy that we are only allowed to speak English amongst ourselves. I asked her to show me where in our handbook it stated that? She said she didnt know where to find that information. I proceeded to go to HR I was determined to find out what kind of company can dictate what languages can or cannot be spoken in our workplace. Linda from HR proceeded to tell me that as our new manager Chonta has the right to make any new rules as she deem fit. No where in our handbook does such a policy exist. I put in my resignation, I cannot understand how a company that has mostly Hispanic patients says we are not allowed to speak our own language. I completely understand that we are in American and we should speak English but what gives a company the right to dictate what languages are spoken when no patients are around? If this is a policy that we need to comply with why is it not stated in our handbook? Why was this never brought to our attention during our hiring process? I checked everything I signed when I was hired by Familia Dental I was never informed I could only speak English to my co-workers.

I went in for an ortho exam this morning and I really appreciate the assistant taking the time to explain the whole treatment process and payment plan to me. Very organized! Hard to find a place that will do an initial consultation 100% free of charge!

Terrible place! Dont come here to get braces! My younger brother had a terrible experience. They shifted his bite. We went to another dental office and they said whatever they were doing at Familia Dental caused a shift and now he needs a surgery. Not to mentioned you come on time to your scheduled appointment and still wait 30-60 minutes. Also the female Orthodontist barely even looks at what his teeth are coming along. We might have to sue for malpractice! We just dont know how to start on that. Please no one come here!!

The worst service that ever. My daughter is in Orthodontist treatment and the Orthodontist that was attending her, he didn’t come any more. A new female Orthodontist took care of my Daughter and she changes the appointments so many times. Family Demtal doesn’t attend my daughter but they ask for the payment each month even they cancel the appointment. Also, we have to wait long time in the waiting room.When finally my daughter is into the office’s Orthodontist, the Doctor rarely checks my daughter, all the work is done just for assistance staff.Before I signed the contract for my daughters treatment the Family Dental’s staff was so friendly and they promised so many things, after I signed and made my first payments they’re showing the real service. SO BAD SERVICE!!! THE WORST SERVICE!!I would like rate with zero because one is too much for them.

Would recommend that you stay away from this place. Receptionists are unprofessional but the biggest issue is that the dental hygienist ( young Hispanic lady) who cleaned my teeth was extremely rude and should not be working with the public. I scheduled appts for both me and my son they had my mother and son sit outside the appt room didn’t offer a chair or anything. These people do not know how to work with children at all! She left tooth paste and fluoride in my sons mouth and mine as well after the “cleaning” didn’t offer water for us to rinse and spit. No goodbye thanks for coming in or even offer to make an appt for next visit. Do your research and find a pediatric dentist and one with professionalism and don’t waste your time here.

I have been taking my two boys here for 2 years now. They are very good and very nice. I like the atmosphere. I recommend very much.

Excellent staff, doctor very unprofessional.They should be able to keep apoiments in schedule, not one hour later.
