Had some problems with my priming my pod…their 24/7 customer service rep was friendly& helpful and easy to communicate with. Also answered some additional questions I had regarding some other issues. I have only been using the Omnipod Dash system for about 6 months now (use it off label as a Cortisol pump for Adrenal Insufficiency and it has changed my life!)πŸ˜Šβ€¦so happy I chose to go with this system as opposed to the competition due to the fact that it has no wires/tubes, etc. which makes it more conducive to my lifestyle. I encourage anyone who is considering a pump for insulin therapy or an adrenal patient who thinks they may be a candidate for subcutaneous cortisol replacement to seek out a physician who is open minded enough to begin this type of corticosteroid replacement. As I said, it is off label (meaning it is non-FDA approved) but if you do your research, you will see how Cortisol pumps have changed adrenal patients lives for the better! No, my disease is not cured….but my daily quality of life have improved SO dramatically, I cannot believe it. I have managed to stay out of the hospital since starting the Omnipod and the days where I can barely get out of bed due to my severe hypotension are now non-existent. Three cheers for my Omnipod!!! 😊

I dont know why no one has contacted me about how I can get a trial of the system after submitting the paperwork through the Dexcom Warrior program. The rep contacted me right away but havent heard a peep since. I alerted my doctor that the paperwork was coming to them and why I wanted to try the Pod. So they are not the hold up...

I am absolutely livid about my most recent experience with this company. They could care less about the wellbeing of their patients, and take absolutely no accountability for their incredibly dangerous mistakes. Ive been working with Omnipod directly to get my Eros, (I was on the DASH but this company also failed to inform me in a timely manner that my insurance wouldnt in fact cover it/had to switch back to the old system unexpectedly). I was on the auto-ship option, so when I wasnt getting confirmation of my next shipment, I reached out myself. They allowed me to reconfirm my insurance information on the website, so I assumed this was all that was needed to process the order. I received a phone call confirming the information was updated, and it was only when I called directly to understand what was going on that I was told that oh, they no longer worked with my insurance company and that I would have to go through Edgepark, a third party medical supply company. They assured me that my insurance would cover the pods through Edgepark, and provided the contact info. They did not provide any reason why I had been told this insurance switch info before I literally NEEDED additional pods, other than to say they had allegedly sent a letter indicating this. (I have yet to receive this letter-- I spoke with them on 2/12/21). I then spent the next 3 weeks trying to process my Omnipod order through Edgepark, only to find out that this company is NOT in fact contracted to work with my insurance, as Omnipod had insisted (crazy, I trusted their word!). This delay forced me to run out of pods, switch to long-acting insulin shots temporarily, and has since drastically thrown off my blood sugar management while I continue to fight to find a supplier that will work with Omnipod and my insurance. This experience has been sickening and shown me just how little this company actually cares. Im angry that I even have to continue working with them for my diabetes management. This gross failure to let their customers know about insurance coverage changes is absolutely unacceptable. If I actually felt like their Customer Support line offered actual customer support, I may have reached out to let them know what this caused-- unfortunately, Im just left pump-less for the foreseeable future, forced to pay more out of pocket through a third party supplier, and planning to leave for the next company that offers a comparable product.

The reps lack knowledge on product and insurance information. The will basically tell you anything to get you on the trial and lie about cost even when they have your insurance info.

I couldnt be more disappointed in the direction this company is taking. I just got my omnipod dash, and to say it was underwhelming is an understatement.Insulet has clearly sacrificed functionality and the end users wellbeing for aesthetics and profits. Lets take a look at how insulet is attempting to pigeonhole yet another captive market.Old omnipod:Able to check bg using pdmAble to manage insulin using pdmUses traditional podsUses freestyle stripsNow lets compare it to the omnipod dash:Youre still able to manage your insulin (bare minimum for a pdm I suppose)You need special blue tooth pods to use the pdm and its not backwards compatible.Comes with a separate device to check your BG and that device...you guessed it...doesnt use freestyle strips! But at least they have a touch screen now...Before switching to the dash you should either:Throw away all of your old supplies (because insulet wont let you trade the old stuff in for new stuff)Wait until your backlog of supplies is depletedConsider finding another pump company to go with (my current consideration).I originally got my omnipod because the rep presented the product as for diabetics by the father of a diabetic who wanted to make our lives easier. I was told the company would prioritize logistics and positive substantial change over pidgeonholing their users into the insulet market. I was lied to. If that father still is out there then he has either lost any control over the company, or owes his son a sincere apology for the direction insulet is moving within the diabetic community.

Amazing customer service, been with them five years now and have had nothing but positive experiences when something would go wrong (not often). Diabetes is complicated enough, having a customer care department that is quick to walk through the problem and replace anything that fails quickly makes dealing with the disease a little easier. Thank you Insulet!!

Im In the past two years have had more problems with pods than the three years previous. Long waits on hold for customer service. Today went to call and the recording said press 1 for 24 hour customer service, a recording comes back with, We can not complete your call at this time, please call back later I have been calling for the past six hours. Great support from a Medical supply Company. From a Medical Company that makes the pods in China and charges $1689.00 for a ninety day supply of stuff they paid under $200 for including shipping.

My 5 year old son uses their Omnipod insulin pump. Every time I have to call them there is no wait time, the customer service reps are friendly and knowledgeable and we ALWAYS receive his pods in a timely manner. Thank you Insulet for helping make diabetes management easier for parents and children. In fact the Omnipod system is so easy to use that my son can do it himself (with supervision of course). I highly recommend this company and their Omnipod insulin pump.

Great concept although quite outdated in the technology department - works well 80% of the time - when pods fail they will replace them .. after you wait for a customer service rep, if you dont get disconnected first or are asked to leave a message that will never be returned .. then go through the interrogation process of the events that led up to the failed pod, the pod itself and why you didnt call the very second it happened ....!!! ... i have been waiting for 3 weeks now for a replacement pdm due to constant malfunctions - warranty is expired so i was told i would have to pay $199 for the replacement .. which i found to be atrocious considering the cost of pods themselves (not to mention every other thing that you have to pay for while battling this terminal illness .. ) but after multiple conversations between insulet/my doctor/insurance it was discovered that my deductible had been met so i would be getting the pdm at no cost to me once they contacted my doctor to verify if in fact i am a DIABETIC and have a genuine need for this replacement (?!?) - seriously? who would lie about something like this??? .. as i mentioned this was over 3 weeks ago and i havent heard anything and quite frankly exhausted with the constant calls and waiting, waiting, waiting ... with no results.

Wish my son chose a different pump. They are so difficult to deal with. They just put you in a bureaucratic loop with their different offices and insurance company. Spent at least 10 hours on the phone with them over a week trying to work out a reorder issue only to call a month later and have them tell me they had no record of it. They told me I would have to do it all over again! Their pump works well, but pray that you do not have any issues with it. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

I have been using my Omnipod for almost a year now. I love it. Being an educator of small children, I appreciate the tubeless device. The PDM is small enough for me to keep on my cart and take with me wherever I go. I have had challenges with 6 pods ( 3 caused a rash and 3 had trouble sticking) Customer service was very good about helping to replace the pods I could not use. They worked with me and my insurance even at the beginning of the benefit year when my deductible had not be met. These folks are my heroes!

I went thru the process of getting, wasnt covered by insurance so deductible/ cost was $2000 annually, not including the cost of insulin.....many times I had pods that failed, and they are expensive. I received numerous letters of recall on the pods...I used for about 3 years then my insurance changed and I have a huge deductible of which I cannot afford. I am type 1 not greatly controlled but the pod helps a lot. I called to see if there is any kind of manufacturer help so I can continue. I was told no help is available, you just have to pay full cost....so now I have to go back to 150-180 single injections a month vs the 10 pods and the serious crashes I get with injections...and 911 help..Im extremely unhappy that there is no help so that I can continue using the omnipod. Im on SSDI and Medicare doesnt cover...my medical last year was $12,000 annually out of pocket..I never had such control over my sugar levels before so this saddens me since it is so important to me as a kidney transplant recipient...maybe one day all these pharmaceutical companies and external device companies will put human lives before profits.

While the Omni Pod may work for many, it most certainly did not work for our daughter. Our daughter was 6 years old when she was diagnosed with T1D and after 6 months of regular injections with an insulin pen, we received training at our hospital to use an insulin pump. We chose the Omni Pod because we felt the tubeless pump would be less hassle and more comfortable for her. The convenience of it when it was working, was amazing, I will give them that. But, with all of the problems we had with the meter and pods failing on us and leaving her feeling miserable with high blood sugars, negated all of the potential good of this pump. And dealing with the condescending customer service representatives was the worst part of it all. We were lied to, taken advantage of and made to feel inadequate as pump users. We finally gave up after a year that included 26 failed pods! Many of those were replaced by Insulet as they encouraged us every time that there was no good reason that these were failing and assured us that Omni Pod was a sound product and these were all just coincidental mishaps or due to us doing something wrong in operation. We would get contradicting responses and explanations from different reps and after awhile, we just were so disgusted, that we gave up. We made several calls about returning the device for a refund, only to be transferred multiple times or told that we had to talk to someone higher up because they could not authorize a return after a certain time period. We could never make the connection. They rerouted us and promised us return calls so many times, that we just gave up. Then a year later, we receive a letter saying that we may be eligible for a refund or exchange because there was a recall on several of their pods and it listed the numbers for us to check our supply. Well, it just so happened that I did have several of the pods that were recalled and that was probably the largest reason why we had so many problems with the Omni Pod system. The representative sent out a box and shipping supplies to send those back and offered to exchange them for new viable pods. It was too late. We were already using a different pump at that point and Omni Pod was packed up in a box in the back of our closet. I denied the replacements, but said I would like them to issue a refund to my account and hopefully it would then wipe out our 400$ balance that we were still making payments on to them from money we owned as part of our deductible with insurance, but they said they would have to forward that request to upper management and I never heard back. I made several calls and got rerouted again and messages taken and still nothing. I decided I was going to stop paying my bill then and now I have collection agencies trying to get the money. I hate Insulet. They have made our lives miserable. Shameful company. Dirty and dishonest. I am not paying them one more cent! Now I have to find a lawyer. Dont do it. Get Animas. Works a lot better. Customer service are actually intellectual and kind human beings that go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. So far that is what works for us.

The omni pod is a wonderful and superior device for the busy diabetic. However, the headaches caused by United Health Care and Edge Park make this product not worth it. Edge park will guarantee and tell you everything you want to hear to sell you the NON- REFUNDABLE product (If youre lucky theyll talk you into purchasing the dex-com as well) United Health Care will try every trick in the book to not cover the 3-5k bill, of course thats after youve spent countless of hours explaining who said what about the other. Edge park claims that United Health Care covers 90% of the DME, United Health Care claims that they only cover CERTAIN ones and that the Omni-pod is not one of them. The best part is when you not only find out the news that they absolutely will not cover ANY of it, but that you have to TAKE IT OFF and stop wearing it and go back to your previous method of insulin injections. Bravo.Having diabetes is ENOUGH, having to deal with scam artists and corporations that only care about your money is too much.

I started using the Omnipod system 4 years ago this November. I was mostly happy with the product. It did seem that sometimes I would get a very helpful person when I experienced a pod failure and sometimes I would get someone that would interrogate me as if I was trying to lie to them to get one free pod. That is laughable considering how much money they have gotten from me and my insurance for this stuff. When my insurance changed last Fall, Insulet let me know that they did not sign an agreement with Tennessee to be able to ship supplies so I would be forced to order through a third party. They referred me to EdgePark, but because of past experience I decided to find another supplier, which worked for one order. For reasons I cannot help, my insurance changed again.I stopped wearing/ordering pods for 6 months now. I just tried to start up again and they tell me my warranty (which is like a 4 year lock into their product) is up and I will not be getting the new PDM and pods now that they are ready. Technically, I received the 1st generation PDM and 10 pods in April of 2009, but because my warranty on my Cozmo was not up until November of 2009 I could not order pods until after the warranty on the other expired. I explained this to Insulet and they told me tough luck, I need to buy the new one! Here is the kicker, my insurance wont let me buy the new one because I didnt start ordering pods until December of 2009 so they think my warranty is not up!Insulet is not trying to help me at all. While I love the no tubing of the Omnipod, I am probably not going to continue doing business with this company. Even with insurance, the pods (through EdgePark) will cost me $40 per pod for the 1st box, $16.25/pod for the 2nd box, and $8/pod for each additional box every year. Considering they last 2 to 3 days, $1,360 for the years worth of pods is just too expensive. And this from a company that is not actively trying to get my business.Too bad a good product is being wasted on a company that doesnt care about the people it could help. Maybe other pump companies will move to the tubeless system faster.

Globally the system is good but the remote device is huge and totally outdated, looks like from the nineties !! :( And some lack of flexibility (impossible to stop when you are at a professional meeting, a burrial ...).System overall good but the remote is a disaster, huge, with buttons hard to operate and interface style 1990.And the interface lacks flexibility, impossible to stop the alarms (suddenly I take my insulin pens for my rdz-vs professionals, if I go to a classical concert, theater ...).
