I had the pleasure of working with Dawn for over a year when she was the Program Director at New Beginnings Center. Dawn has been one of the most influential leaders I have ever had the privilege of working with. I learned so much from her by simply just watching her interactions with others. Her knowledge and past experiences are a testament to her professionalism, but beyond that she has a true passion and love for helping others.One of the skills I learned from Dawn in the various trainings she facilitated for myself and my coworkers was Love and Logic Parenting. Love and Logic Parenting essentially is a process where children grow through their mistakes and learn from the consequences of their choices. We learned how to set firm limits in loving ways without anger or allowing the child’s mistake to make us lose our composure. We were able to use these concepts daily with the residents at NBC to give choices and consequences from actions without damaging the trusting relationship. As a parent myself now, those lessons Dawn taught me still come in handy today with my own child.Dawn truly embodies what it means to be a servant leader. I admire her as a professional and as an incredible human being. Her heart for her profession and the people she comes in contact with is rare and invaluable.

Dawn has been great for my son. Hes grown so much since he started his visits.

Although I haven’t had services done here, I did do my internship for clinical mental health counseling under Dawn! Dawn has a great grasp on technics and was knowledgeable with helping my internship. She was also my supervisor for employment where I worked with youth at a home. Love and logic was part of our training and I used that training both at work and home! So excited to see a new place for individuals to receive services!
